This is another tool that uses HTTPJolie. It was inspired by my previous tool DpOnlineBrowser. That tools was primarily intended for inspecting cast and crew. DpComparison is designed to let you compare the properties of different releases of the same title in the online database..

Note that the info that you get is only as good as the info that has been contributed in the various profiles.

Download DpComparison 1.0.0 here.

For whatever reason, all these tools that use HTTPJolie do not work on my machine. I wish there were versions that do not require HTTPJolie. With it running and default settings they always tell me there's no contact with HTTPJolie.

Sorry that is happening. We have been working on it, a lot. It could start working if you run DVD Profiler in elevated mode (as administrator). The solution to this problem has eluded both me and Gunnar, but be sure we have not forgotten.

Just FYI, the purpose of HTTPJolie is to provide a relatively fast and easy access to the Profiler local and remote database in real time, to programs that are not plugins, and without needing to export XML.

For many of the functions his programs provides, GSyren does provide an non-HTTPJolie option that requires export of XML.
Thanks for your support.

Since this program depends on downloading profiles fron the online database, HTTPJolie is a necessity, I'm afraid.

I am running as an administrator. I also export to XML on a regular basis.

Oh yeah, now I remember. Trust me, I am as eager to get the problem solved as you are. But after rewriting the code for the billionth time, I usually take a break for a few weeks, hoping for some new inspiration or information leading to a fix.

i,

could you try to download http://doena-soft.de/dvdprofiler/3.9.0/HostingTest.zip and run it bot elevated and not elevated and let us know which of the offered option works for you?

My expectation is that "localhost" will always work but the others will refuse to work in non-elevated mode and some even in elevated mode.

If you could provide screenshots of successes and failures that would be great!

Bonus: There is an Indiana Jones easter egg in there.

I tried it out of curiosity, but it uses the wrong port number, 10191. Is there a way to specify which port number to use?

But shouldn't it be used to test the connection to HTTPJolie? Isn't that the idea here? If not, what is it supposed to connect to?

Did you run it? It is simply a program that established a HTTP Listener binding to a specific port, based on your choice of host IP addresses or "localhost". The program reports success or failure of the binding, assuming that this is the problem we are having, which is server related - not client related.

My code also has an error trap on the attempt to start the http server. I will double check to make sure that this error is properly handled and reported.

Of course I tried it. I guess I just didn't understand the result. For every option I got the following:
Quote:
Exception occured: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. (TargetInvocationException)
Access is denied (HttpListenerException)

And I assumed that it meant that it was supposed to connect to something.
