| Posted: | | | | Please restore the Export to CSV option from v2.x.
You can open the v3.x XML in Excel, choose the "Use XML Source task pane" option, then drag the elements from the tree into the worksheet where you want the headings to appear. Then you click "Import XML Data" from the List toolbar. Save it and just import again when you update the XML file. It is a one time setup but still a PITA.
Also, any data with multiple entries, i.e. Director credits or Studio, create duplicate rows when the XML data is imported. The old .csv export would put them in columns.
Any chance? Anybody else still use the CSV? |

| Posted: | | | | I do believe someone is currently working on a plug-in that will add this functionality back into the program, but don't quote me on that |

INVELOS ANNOUNCE LEGACY VERSION OF DVDPROFILER 3
Ken Cole has announced today that he will be launching DVDProfiler 3 for DOS this summer. Worried that you're not running DOS and so won't be able to take advantage of the old features? Worry no longer for Cole will also be providing his own version of DOS, called InveDOS, to run the application.
"I just couldn't resist," said Cole. "What with the last bit of the new company name sounding like DOS, I just had to exploit it by coding up my own operating system."
Due to the market that DVDProfiler 3 for DOS will be targeted at, Unlimited Registration is expected to be priced competitively at $9,995.
It's not all sweet smelling roses though. "Due to the problems of implementing network functionality in InveDOS, I've had to omit the contributions feature," said Cole. "Oh and also the database updates feature. And the online collection sync."
We'll bring you more news as Invelos release it. Watch this space. | | | Last edited: by Squirrelecto |

| Posted: | | | | I want it back too. Stone age or not. Although I'm not sure what's stone age about a format that's faster and text-based, so usable by almost anyone. | | | Last edited: by Ginwen |

| Posted: | | | | I'd like it back as well. I export it into MS Notepad and break it up into smaller .txt files so I can upload it to my iPod notes. | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

| Posted: | | | | I`m waiting for that too. I need it because my smartphone has only a excel viewer and it is a very good help to not buy any DVD I have in my collection. (An old man can`t remeber more than a few ones) | | | Kind Regards Heinz | | | Last edited: by WastlNRW |

| Posted: | | | | Count me in as well. This is the first thing I am unhappy with with 3.x. Now that the legal issue was solved and I could add my recent purchases, I also wanted to export it to csv again. To my surprise, I no longer could find the option. The reason I want it, is that I keep a very simple list of our DVDs on my iPaq. With a csv this was dead easy. With XML however, I would have to write some XSLT first, or as someone mentioned, first import it in Excel and then export it back. Somehow, I think the reason why it's dropped was to boost DVD Profiler Mobile. Unfortunately though, I sync my iPaq on a different PC than where our DVD Profiler is on, so for now that is not an option. |
