| Posted: | | | | I've scanned the program for about an hour trying to find an easy way to show that certain DVD's I have are in DivX format. I think that the best solution for this would be to add DivX as an option when selecting media types.
I am just looking for a way to catalog my downloaded TV shows with my extensive DVD collection.
If anyone else has an alternative solution, I am all ears.
Thank You. |

Skip Skip, While I agree to use tags, but the software is called DVD Profiler but it is in fact a Digital Video Profiler since version 3 with the HD and Bluray additions. | | | Premium member since 29 August 2002 ----

| Posted: | | | | Ummm, DIVX? Just kidding But really, at least HD DVD and Bluray are legit formats, I really don't think supporting whatever formats the \/\/@r3z kiddies want is a good idea. I was not saying that DivX (or XviD) are formates that the films can be purchased as, or was I saying to add it profiler. I was just commenting to Skip that DVD Profiler is not just limited to classic DVDs anymore...... | | | Premium member since 29 August 2002 ----

| Posted: | | | | This is referring to a different DIVX, something from Disney if I remember correctly with DRM. |

Skip Actually it's not. Since HD-DVD and Blue-Ray has been added, and they are not DVD |

| Posted: | | | | It would help if it were clearer which DIVX the original poster is talking about. I thought all of the Circuit City DIVX discs were coasters now because the machines have nowhere to phone home to, but I could be wrong about that. | | | "This movie has warped my fragile little mind." |

| Posted: | | | | I was talking about the Divx media you usually get when you download torrents. I think that the files are .avi, but with some of the newer DVD players that are on the market, you can download, let's say the whole first season of Heroes, the tv show, burn these files to a DVD, and play these on your DVD player. They say these players are "Divx compatible". The quality isn't that great, I would stay away from movies, but for TV shows, it's not too bad considering you have to wait a while before they actually release anything on DVD. Hope this clears things up a bit. |

Since we do have Media Format now, I can see the validity of adding divx since people can make their own dvds using this format. | | | My 4x4 Club: Club FJ Cruiser Quebec DVDP Français: Forum DVD Profiler Français DVDCOL:DVD Collectors Online Video: LG RU-42PX10 Audio: Sony DreamSystem DAVFX100W |

Hope this clears things up a bit. i'll jump in before you get really flamed... but this program is desired to be 100% legit... hence, no bootlegs, torrents, copys, etc are accepted. i probably also would advise against admitting in a public forum what you download illegally.. you never know who is watching. | | | -JoN |
