Just a small addition would make DVD Profiler a little better ..

Ok, so since I occasionally buy something from other region shops than euro, it would be nice if you could set up a "default currency" for each retailer !

For example, If I order from US based shop, the default currency would be $US, if from UK then £ etc..

Now tell me how this would be implemented. For example Wal-Mart is a US company but it has stores all over the world. So whose default currency would be used.

Simple. As the user creates the retailer, they can enter the currency. not exactly rocket science. Just make it local data, just like the retailer is anyway.

Sounds extremely good logic Andy, I would support this feature

With Andy's (obvious) addition, it sounds like a great help.

I whole-heartedly agree with this request; enable the user to associate a currency (something else than the default) with any retailer.  I buy most of my DVDs/BDs from the UK (GBP), some from the US (USD), and my local currency is Euro (EUR).

Not that this is a major problem, but per-retailer currency would make life a little bit easier

+1 from me, would be very useful for those of us who import a lot.

edit: *boggle* Just realized this request is from 2007. No matter though, it's a good one and deserves the bump.

Seems like a good idea to me, but only if that setting isn't mandatory, as I sometimes pay in different currencies with the same retailer, depending on the exchange rate:

e.g.:
- Amazon offers me the choice to pay in USD or in Euro
- Axelmusic offers me the choice to pay in USD or CAD
Blu-ray collection
DVD collection
My Games
My Trophies

Exactly; just let the user specify a default currency for a retailer and allow the currency to be changed from that default at the time of entering the actual purchase information.

In such cases you can define two retailers, one for each currency. I have Amazon US, Amazon UK, Amazon FR, Amazon DE and Amazon CA. And of course, any default setting can be overridden.

I think this is a great idea, in all its simplicity (compared to redoing cast/crew that is).

True, but Taro described a different situation: e.g. Amazon US let's a European customer choose the currency (USD or EUR) at checkout time.  One retailer - two currencies.

Yep, ranavalone is correct. In my retailer list I have:

Amazon UK > the UK Amazon website, always paid in GBP
Amazon > the US Amazon webiste, paid in USD or Euro, depending on situation
Blu-ray collection
DVD collection
My Games
My Trophies

Not sure why this is such a big deal.

The request was for a configurable default currency per retailer. You have to change the currency quite often today if you buy from different countries. This may not eliminate that 100%, but it will go a long way towards that. So you may still have to change currency in a few cases. Is that a problem?

I really don't buy enough to make it a problem either way.
