If this is what your asking, that is not unusual for TV series. Most series have a group of writers who each have some participation in writing various episodes in an entire season. | | | Are you local? Last week I was asked to write an outline for an episode (the story) but scheduling conflicts did not allow for me to go further and that particular script ended up being written by another dude. So, I will only end up with a dull 'story by' credit... and a lesser paycheck. But that will change next week (I hope) since I'm writing a script which was outlined by another writer. | | | Funny, these cookies don't taste anything like Girl Scouts.

| Posted: | | | | Personally, I tend to use "original characters by" to cover "created by". Other than that, I agree with Tracer's method. I've already posted a feature request for adding a "creator"/ "created by" credit months ago: click... |

Because a writer is a story teller, and movies are made from written scripts, screenplays, novels, etc. ...but for DVD Profiler purposes only "Writer" or "Written by" in the credits should qualify for a "Writer" credit in Profiler (as per the rules). "Story by" is in 99% of cases accompanied by a "Screenplay/Teleplay by" credit, so "Story by" should be credited as "Original Material by", as the said Story is the Original Material on which the Screenplay/Teleplay is based. This has been discussed plenty of times in the forums, and I believe "Story by" = "Original Material by" has been the clear consensus. | | | Last edited: by Behemot |
