What is UP with plastering all region 1 titles with those stickers directly on the case?? Half my R1 titles have sticky goo around the edges from peeling the stickers off that won't come off. I really don't see the purpose of them, especially when they literally brand themselves into all my keep cases. What do you guys do to take them off?

It is a world-wide problem. I can recommend Eucalyptus oil to clean the stuff off. There is nothing like it plus it has the added advantage of increasing our exports.

That's odd. I don't seem to have any issues with removing the security plastic.  On the Blu-Ray's, I simply lift a corner and peel back.  On DVD's, I cut them in the middle along the case seam and then pull off after opening the case.

Scotch tape works pretty well getting the sticker's remainder junk off sometimes, as long as it's on plastic and not the actual paper covers. Goo-gone (I think it's called?) also works well.

"Goo Gone" is an excellent product for cleaning up tape residue. Been using it for years.

I will almost always take the R1 security tape over all the Europian ratings markings (permanant at that) that ruin the cover art of the DVD cases!!!

Yeah, I know... when we pass a Rule we pass a RULE... if the warnings on cigarette packets get any bigger they'll have to remove the brand name

IIRC they don't actually have to be on the spines of most releases (there's a minimum width below which they're not legally requred which was set in VHS days) but most do anyway for convenience as that's often the bit visible on the shelf in the shop.
