I have an idea, instread of re-hashing old ground and going over areas that have been cussed, discussed, and cussed some more. Just live with it. There is NOTHING you have brought up in the last few weeks that has not been argued and discussed to death. I really appreciate your interest but...give it a rest. I agree with Cliff.

Given the wierd production/debut/release years of "The Big Sleep" -- shot in 1944 & 1945, released to GIs overseas in 1945, reshot & re-edited for official release in 1946... both the 1946 & 1945 versions are on the latest DVD. | | | If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.

I do not really agree with that, but I understand that you want to do that. Do you know that you can already obtain that using a personal translation file where you translate "Production Year" by "Original Theatrical Release". With this file, you also can personalise genres, for example (then keep modified profiles local) | | | | Images from movies |

Don't be hard on new people for bringing it up again. Instead, point them to previous topic posts on the subject. |

Can't see that working North...Stargate SG-1 season 10 started being shown in the US first, then they had their mid season break wereas we here in the UK didn't, Sky One continued to show the rest of season 10 without a break, yet according to official statics Season 10 finished june 2007, if I remember correctly we here in the UK saw the end of Season 10 back in February/March...although this is a TV series and not a film still would be required to find and announce to the world in general when the first showing was. Do you also include in the UK case Royal Premiere whereby only select few get to see before the general public? But at the same time yes we need some other way than year produced - as Cliff has pointed out with the Big Sleep - 3 different years to work on / go by. Steve |

| | Posted: | | | | For TV series, the rules say we only have to concern ourselves with when the season starts, so it shouldn't matter that we overtook the US when showing Stargate.
And I wouldn't class a Royal premiere (or a festival showing) as a theatrical release either. |
