Hi. I have resubmitted cast and crew info on some of my dvd's, and I remove uncredited cast, since I don't have them verified, and I don't know if they really are verified from before. I add in my contributionnotes that I have removed them, but also write that feel free to add them with documentation. So my future request is that on uncredited cast that is verified, we can actually see it in DVDP, so we don't remove allready accepted uncredited cast. I don't know how, but a suggestion would be that the names in profiler would have a (verified) or similar in the credits. Also when we come to the contributionpage, uncredited verified names should be in green, and a function that we can reinsert removed uncredited cast. Just a suggestion

This would indeed be helpful in preventing contributions pingponging back and forth. Not sure it would be easy to implement though.

You are not supposed to do this without verification that the uncredited cast is not in the movie except when the list is a close match of a third party credit list (e.g. IMDb).

Well, thats why I request some sort of verifier, so we don't have to go back and forth. In my opinion uncredited cast should not be submitted, since there's a reason they're not credited in the first place.
How do I verify and how did the submitters verify (from one of my dvds) Name: (blank) Role: (uncredited) But if I remove them, and it says in the previous contributionnotes that they have been verified from before, with links etc, I resubmit them in the cast. I have doubts with uncredited cast when the notes says only "New Contribution", without documentation of the cast I don't know if the database is the same as intervocative, or invelos is a total new database built from scratch. If so it's a new database, then I will leave uncredited cast in the cast section from now on, since the Invelos forbid thirdparty which was used at Intervocative. I did that, and all my contributions there was accepted.

How about this?  If you don't know, leave them alone.    Delete them if you know and can document they're not in the movie.  Honestly, why people are intent on discarding data willy nilly just perplexes me.

You just write what I was about to write. If it's in the database left all the uncredited cast in the profile, you don't know if the previous contributors search them. I have made some submited profile with uncredited cast and real name in the past, but you can't see were I get my info since before we can't wrote nothing on a new contribution.

If you don't like it remove them from your personal database, this is not that hard to do...

At the same time all you have to do is View the Contribution Notes from previous submissions to see whether they have documented Uncredited or not, since the documentation for all submission at least.

No note can be write on a new contribution at first, so no documentation will be here. The only thing that we can read is "New Contribution" no more than this. Now it's a different story since we can leave note on a new contribution.

So you can't delete those informations, just delete them in your personal database if you don't like it.

You absolutely can and should be writing a note with a NEW Contribution and if you are adding (uncredited)  without adding the accompanying verification EVEN on a new release, then the ContrIBUTION SHOULd BE DECLINED AND IF NOT THEN THE undocumented (uncredited) should be removed ASAP. PERIOD.

Well I have been checking previous notes, and there has not been any documentation of uncredited cast, and that has been on profiles just a few months old. But for now I will leave the uncredited cast in my profile, but would like the opportunity to have that function I described to make it easier to keep track of. BTW, I recontributed all my James Bond movies for a while ago, and I removed all previous uncredited cast, rearranged cast as they appear in the endcredits, left a note that said " Uncredited cast removed, but feel free to submit them with documentation. And on 21 movies I didn't get any "no" votes, just yes, and all contributions were approved.

I completly agree that a new contribution with no documentation should be decline now, since we must give it in the contribution note now.

But when the profiler was launch it was impossible to leave any note on a new contribution. That why I say that we can't remove them since they were approve like that by Ken.

And all the documentation from the Intervocative days is now lost.  There are plenty of documented uncrediteds whose documentation doesn't show up in the current Contribution Notes.

Gard:

I haven't looked lately, but I thin the Intervocative data is still out there, you just have to still have your 2.4/2.5 Beta...which I do.

im pretty sure its still around if you look for it...  http://legacy.intervocative.com/ would be a start... i believe you would just need the url for an old submission....

I have re-installing the 2.4 version on my computer this morning to verify this and yes the old contribution note are always online. So we have a way to check the uncredited cast entry, but I'm not sure if the big database file is always online since the file was already on my system.

But it's a temporary help, Ken will probably one day or another delete all this archive stuff, since the Intervocative version is not suported anymore.
