| Posted: | | | | I'm quite sure that this has been asked before. Strangely I couldn't find it in the "Collected Requests"-thread, so I thought I'd better bring it up again.
I'd like to see a B/W - checkbox in the Video Formats section of a profile | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

| Posted: | | | | It's been asked for before, I know. I think we even got into discussing black & white, color, colorized, sepia, etc. I would use this feature. Until then, I use tags. | | | ...James

| Posted: | | | | I agree... and I agree we would need to have all the choice not just Black and White. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | How about making it B&W / Color / OtherThen we can over all special cases with Other. Possibly it might be good to have Colorized as a separate alternative, but then again nobody here would buy colorized movies, would they...? | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Gunnar |

| Posted: | | | | How would you handle a movie like Jacques Tati's "Jour de Fête", which is black and white but has one or a few coloured items in it (a French flag, if I remember correctly, perhaps more)? And what about films that are a mix of black and white and colour (Schindler's List comes to mind)? |

- Color - Black & White - Colorized - Mixed
Then you can check whichever fits the title. | | | Pete |

And what about films that are a mix of black and white and colour (Schindler's List comes to mind)? Until I read that, all I'd thought of was: B&W Colour-tinted (incl. sepia) Colourised Colour Now I see it's even more involved. My understanding is that your first example is a B&W film with coloured highlights (much like in Sin City). I don't know what label that would be assigned. I considered "mixed" to be reserved for films such as The Wizard of Oz, where some scenes are B&W and some are colour. That's (potentially) two more options. Some of the 1950s movies released on Blu-ray have the original B&W versions, but include colourised versions as a bonus. | | | Adelaide Movie Buffs (info on special screenings, contests, bargains, etc. relevant to Adelaideans... and contests/bargains for other Aussies too!) |
