Need a way to disable the "Profile Refresh Needed" information Box on start up.
It is now programed to come up every 3 days.
There is no way to disable it.
I consider this a BUG  in the software.

Regards,

zappman

+ (a very big) 1
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

I agree... the backup reminder can be turned off... this should be able to be turned off as well.

I don't think I've ever seen this. Must be turned off somehow?

It depends on how often you refresh your profiles without needing to be "reminded".

I'm also one of the big +1 supporters, I complained about it here.

There is NO way to turn this off.

Below is the answer I received from Invelos Support, that is why I started this thread:

There's currently no way to disable that message - it will prompt once per three days.  You may wish to post in the feature requests forum to request an option to disable it.

It's not necessarily that. It could also be that for whatever reason you don't have internet access for a time. It'd be annoying to be reminded to update when it's an impossibility!

Ah yes, that could be the reason. I've been there myself.

Because I maintain the data I care about myself and the data I don't care about ... I don't care about. So I rarely do updates at all.

I don't want to refresh because I have over 5000 profiles.

I have customized many profiles over the years,
I have them the way I want them.

If I don't want the original release cover, I use the one I want.

For the many of my profiles even the original release covers are different because I have higher resolution scans.

Many of my profiles use different names then the online database, such as 2 movies with the same name, I have changed the names to "Movie Name (19xx)" and " "Movie Name (20xx)".

If I don't like the way a cast or crew is from the online database, I change my local information to what I want.

Now I am worried that one day on start up I am going to hit the wrong button on this "NAG" screen and wipe out my customized profiles.

Why the NAG screen was added after all these years, without a way to  disable it is beyond my understanding, so I consider it a BUG introduced with version 3.6.X

You do know that you can lock fields to prevent that right?

For example, I also scan a lot of covers at higher resolution & then lock the Covers section of the profile to avoid having them overridden during a profile update.

Well, if I didn't care for the online database I wouldn't even be using this program. I just hope that you refresh your profiles before you contribute, if you contribute.

I don't know how to easily and reliably lock ALL 6324 of my profiles at one time.
