| Posted: | | | | I am sure there is many here like me that has been making manual profiles for stuff like 2 movies on one side of a disc and such. Unfortunately when you do this the button links and scores ratings... ... or even the Youtube Trailers don't work... as they are determined by the links page here on the site for the profile and the manual profiles of course don't have a links page. I would like a section in the Personalize window for these links so we can do it ourselves for our manual profiles. Here is a mock-up of what I was thinking... maybe a tab for the notes section to go to the links. (Forgive with quick and dirty mock-up)... Of course I much rather have a solution for 2 movies on one side of the disc... but in my opinion even if we get that this would be still a good thing for the program. Would work for people that make their own dvds... maybe off of cable recordings... if they have bootlegs in their collection.... use custom collection types such as VHS, VCD and so on...This would allow us to have full function of profiler for all of our profiles... even if having a links page here on the site is impossible. And maybe have it so if these links are used for regular profiles in the main online database... it will over-ride the links on the links page. I am thinking maybe if you don't like the trailer/clip used for the Youtube trailer button... you can have the one you want locally... and it work with the trailer button. Thoughts? | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | I would only need/use the IMDB-Link and Rotten Tomatoes, but definitely a good idea on the whole. Not to mention that this might be a possibility to get the IMDB-Number into the XML-export.

| Posted: | | | | Sounds like a plus I didn't think of. But then I really don't use the XML export for anything is probably why.
I would personally use them all... but the main one I would want is the one for Youtube as I love having the trailer for the profiles (and I don't have a big enough hard drive to store them on). | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | This is very interesting since I have a large number of manual profiles.
How about also allowing the association of a manual profile with an Invelos-approved profile, so the program will show links, etc. for that profile. Even better, if the links were made title driven instead of release driven, then any release would be connected to those links, and hopefully manual profiles could be as well. |

| Posted: | | | | There is already links that are title (plus year) driven and works with every release with the same title and year... See here... Problem is that it don't work with the manual profiles since they don't have link pages. The only way I can think it would work the way you are talking about is if they made a link page for the movie/show... which would cause difficulties too. Then you couldn't have release specific links (DVD Reviews and such) without them showing for all of them. Though I would love it if there was a way for Ken to do it... even if not the way I suggested. Of course anything other then a local link wouldn't allow you do use a different Youtube link then is in the online link page (if you prefer a different trailer or clip). | | | Pete |

I use manual profiles not very often, but I can see the use and I like the idea of this feature request. |

| Posted: | | | | I would really like to see this. I use manual profiles not only to split up multiple features on one disc side but also for bonus features, if I want to record cast/crew for those features. This would be very helpful. | | | ...James

| Posted: | | | | While I don't profile bonus features, I personally would certainly welcome this for multiple features on a single disc side. |

| Posted: | | | | One of my main reasons I want this so bad now is that I been putting a bunch of old recordings... transferring them to DVD lately. Like I have so far done a handful of episodes of BJ and the Bear... and the entire series of Nightmare Cafe. Since these are homemade DVDs... they of course are local only so don't have a links page. Giving us the links for manual profiles lets us take advantage of all that profiler has to offer... even for homemade discs. So I think this would be a good idea even if Ken does something for 2 movies on a single sided disc. (I can hope! ) You got to think people do use profiler for stuff like Laser Disc, VHS, VCD, Digital videos on hdd. This would help with all of them. | | | Pete |
