| Posted: | | | | I often wish there was a "next profile" button when I'm editing profiles. That way, I don't have to click "ok," click on the next profile, then click to open the edit box again. The two main ways I'd use this is 1)on the personal info page when working with retailers/amounts/collection numbers or even the location box. And 2) working on cast lists with a certain actor or crew member. | | | Lori |

| Posted: | | | | Looks OK but notice that only when you click on "OK" in the Edit window your changes will be consolidated. If you click cancel or the top-right "x" all changes will be discarded ("database rolled back").
So I'd propose the addition of an "apply all changes" button apart from "next", to avoid unintended effects. Otherwise, all "next" edited profiles will have to wait for the final OK-click for consolidation if Invelos sticks with the current 'logic'.
In any case, a "next" button within the edit window requires a serious rethink/overhaul of the current commit/rollback implementation of it. | | | Eric

I too support the idea of a Next button, but I like this Apply Changes button even more. Creating a profile from scratch, including scanning the cover, reading the disc menus in PowerDVD, etc., takes a while; one has to remember to click OK and restart editing the profile from time to time, to avoid losing all changes in case of a mishap. |

| Posted: | | | | Apologies for intruding in this thread, but in case you are not aware, I made two plugins that might help you:
BulkEdit - you can change selected columns of selected profiles en masse, then apply with "Save Validated Changes" button. The format is similar to a spreadsheet. Just about all fields (e.g. Location, Slot, Purchase Info) are handled except for Cast/Crew.
Profile Contribution Assistant - will gather all information from a DVD or BD including disc info, audio and subtitle tracks, so you can quickly create an initial profile for further editing within DVDP. A great time saver, and the information should be as accurate as PowerDVD. If not, I will certainly try to fix it. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. In BulkEdit, is it possible to set Media Banner to Off for a bunch of profile at once? Hmmm, never looked at it. In addition to the spreadsheet, BulkEdit adds a bunch of menus to the Collection\Flagged and Collection\Flags scenarios. Is that something you would use a lot? If so, I can put it on my update todo list ... First I have to go and refresh my memory about the Banner process. I don't use it myself, so I am not familiar with it. (Edit: I checked, and it seems possible, but a bit tricky to code. If you plan to use it a lot, I will take a shot at doing it. Let me know.) I was also thinking about if it was possible to add the "Next" business, but based on the last points made about the "Apply" process, it would be more complex than I originally thought ... | | | Thanks for your support. Edit one profile to the media banner settings you want.
Select DVD -> Copy
Flag all the profiles that shall have the same media banner settings.
Select Collection -> Flagged -> Paste -> Media Banners Thanks, worked like a charm. It is rather confusing that the tick box for Media Banners is in the personal information section in Flagged -> Paste, while the options for Media Banner are not set in the personal information menu in Edit Profile |

So I'd propose the addition of an "apply all changes" button apart from "next", to avoid unintended effects. Speaking of unintended effects, has anyone noticed this one? Edit a profile, and on the Cast (or Crew) Edit page right-click on a name in the left pane and select "Show Credits". From the list of titles that pops up (assuming there is more than one), select a different title and click on the "Jump to Title" button. You'll notice that DVD Profiler has selected the new title but hasn't abandoned the "Edit Profile" dialog box or its contents. When you click on the "OK" button it will apply the contents of the former profile to the current profile. Not nice. --------------- |

I guess he put the radio buttons to the banners because it belongs to the covers. The sort title is also in the general tab (additionally to the Perso tab). | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online
