| Posted: | | | | I'm also looking for an app to use on my soon-to-arrive iPhone 3GS, so which would you guys recommend as the best place-holder app? My Movies Rackor clz movies (from Collectors)or MyMoviesor something else? It seems that CLZ is quite handy to use but also the most expensive option (I need Collectorz Movie Collector Pro edition + the app, but importing is quite easy) MyMovies seems like a nice alternative but going by their faq, the import process is quite long and complicated. | | | Blu-ray collection DVD collection My Games My Trophies |

"My Movies Rack" was my second try, and although the import took "forever" I think this app will do until DVDProfiler-app is ready. (+ cheaper than MyMovies) clz movies was not an alternative, for me, as I then had to buy their PC app. | | | Karsten |

| Posted: | | | | The My Movies Rack download takes a long time (be sure to shut off the phone going to sleep, or it will stop downloading, I found out) but the setup is pretty straightforward. | | | "This movie has warped my fragile little mind." |

I do not know if it is the same for the 'iPhone'?? | | | Growing older is mandatory...Growing up is optional... "Time spent with cats is never wasted." - Sigmund Freud | | | Last edited: by DavidEC |

Works fine on my iphone 4 and ipad. Well almost, i may have to retract that statement a little. As I think someone else pointed out, it doesn't ignore 'A' and 'the' etc in the sort so orders collection different to Invelos and worse, even though I have refreshed several times, it seemingly misses out quite a lot of the collection when it syncs! | | | Gonna jump...gonna jump... |

| Posted: | | | | Yeah i'm trying out the My Movies Rack too.. its getting to be quite a while without any update about DVDprofilers status for the iPhone. Its just handy to have something to search through your collection when you are purchasing movies to double check you don't already have it.
Ken any update on DVDprofiler for the mobile? Even somethign simple liek viewing and filtering your own collection? |

When will the iPad apps be released? We're aiming to release the movie edition (CLZ Movies HD) early September. The other editions will follow soon after.

| Posted: | | | | ... almost at the four month mark now, without any more info on this app. I'm aware of the limitations a small developer has in regards to time, resources, etc., but this is getting ridiculous. DVD Profiler is not the only piece of software I own that is programmed by a single developer, yeah it's a good policy to not announce release dates and limit "promised" features, but I've NEVER seen a developer go almost four months without any sort of tangible development update.
I'm beginning to think "winding down the feature and functionality implementation phase" really just meant "we've made the decision to make an iPhone app, now we need ideas." |

Since I'm on the verge of buying both an iPhone and iPad (provided my wife OK's the purchase ) and I still have a working licence for Movie Collector (which can import DVDP data), I'm seriously considering getting both their iPhone & iPad editions to have a 'browse only' up to date listing of my collection on the go. Their iPad edition even takes advantages of the increased screen resolution of the iPad. I don't want to sound too harsh but it's taking forever to hear some news or even see some screenshots of the upcoming app, that I'm seriously considering investing good money in decent alternatives. That means that when the DVDP app eventually comes out, it'll have to be a serious step up over the competition to get my money. I'm sorry, I love DVDP, but the lack of news, updates or screenshots even is pushing me towards alternatives. | | | Blu-ray collection DVD collection My Games My Trophies |

I totally agree with joecan, this is becoming a total farce. Ken is treating loyal DVDP fans with total distain and a certain amount of arrogance. I too am now considering alternatives unless Ken can satisy us all as to the progress of the app, I am prepared to wait, but not forever.
