| Posted: | | | | No, what Pete is asking for, using your example, is when you open up the Brian Dennehy window from your Owned list, you have the option to only see his titles that you own and not to have titles from ordered and wishlist mixed in with them.
Edit: for what it's worth, I'm not sure I like the idea. However, I wouldn't mind it if the list was ordered by tabs, with your current tab at the top of the list. | | | Last edited: by northbloke |

| Posted: | | | | Okay I see what it is now ( it's 5 am ) still waking up),, You only want the owned titles only and no wish list.., . I'm sure if the that feature was available as you're asking for,, A lot of people would want the other feature that is currently present, as prevalent on their program.,, so I don't think you could have both options. You can though go through the 'filter side of the program and open data box and fill in (i.e.) Brian Dennehy, and then That will show you exactly how many titles you own in Owned and how many in your wish list etc... | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. | Posted: | | | | northbloke understands what I am asking for. When I click on a person's name from the Owned section I would like to have the option to see only the results for that name that I have in my owned section only. I thought about this some more... and can see times I would want different so I think a check box option would be cool so you can do it on the fly.. where you can check off what you want to see (being abot to have multiple checks at once)... something like this (note: this was done very quickly so forgive the rawness)... I see this in helping in such situations where say... I am doing a movie marathon of a certain actor when I click their name in one profile... I don't need to see the wishlist or ordered... so I just click the owned checkbox and it filters on the fly. And I do realize not everyone may want it this way that is why I asked for it to be an option... but think the checkboxes would work the best personally. | | | Pete |

Have you tried using Filter? It works pretty good for what you need... | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.

| Posted: | | | | yes I have... but if I was able to get what I put above... it would be much quicker and easier. Especially as slow as my machine is loading the cast list in the filters and all. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Addicted, I like the idea and think its a simple thing that makes it easier. After I read it I had thought about doing it the way you posted in your later modification and was going to post that as a suggestion but then read the next page and saw you came to that as well.
As a general comment, it seems a lot of people will shoot down an idea because they wouldn't use it or there is already some round about way of doing it and that just seems silly. With the software I write we constantly get requests to change how a specific feature works, sometimes for the betterment of all, other times its something that would be personal (or business) preference. Its not a bad idea, just not something everyone will want...so we put it in with a setting to select which way it works.
back to Addicted suggestion. Have the check boxes like his screen shot, then have a setting for how it defaults, ie "Open cast filmography to all profiles" or "Open cast filmography to profiles from current tab". It makes the software more flexible and thats a good thing.

| Posted: | | | | Thanks Agrare... I think it is a good idea to have in the options how you want it defaulted.
Yeah.... the whole idea was a way to make it easier. Not that there wasn't a way to get to that info at all now. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | The one thing I'd really like is an ease-of-use enhancement: Have a cast/crew editor directly available from the main menu. This would be a lot easier on name corrections, adding or changing a headshot, etc. It removes the need to artificially enter a DVD profile to edit cast and/or crew. Because if you now exit the editor with OK, then exit the profile editor with cancel (since there was no issue with that specific profile), the program will roll back the cast/crew changes. Slap in the face and start over again . It basically requires a stripped down version of the current editor, since adding a role is a profile specific something, of course. It could add some of the maintenance things in the repair utility, like cleanse unused entries. If cast and crew will still not be merged in the next versions, two tabs could be used... just an idea on some details... | | | Eric

I'm not sure, but I think localities and CoO can already be updated without deploying a new client. At least their data lives in "%APPINFO%/localities.dod" and is downloaded from the server when needed. |

More fields searchable/filterable (particularly locations) Make tags a condition in reports
Would also love to be able to add a location immediately after adding a disc without having to close the dialog and re-open it.
Oooh thought of a couple more;
Custom lists, atm I'm using the ordered list for my TV series and owned for everything else but this is not ideal because the profiles in the ordered list cannot have collection numbers. And yes I know I could use multiple databases but for me switching between them takes too long.
And cosmetics-wise, I'd love to have a few more colour schemes (in particularly deep red/burgandy to match my HTML window and collection list. And finally (probably ) the ability to remove all panel handles. Huh, just noticed this is possible already. |
