Doh! [slaps head in frustration] You couldn't be more correct! I purchased the Movie Rack app not even thinking that I had DVD Pro on my menu bar in Safari ALREADY - which adds the functionality (for me) of being sorted by collection number! Dude thanks - the DVD Pro iPhone app can hang fire as far as I'm concerned (now) As a Mac user the regular program excludes me any way! | | | rwr-b Bless your heart! |

| Posted: | | | | Sorry to keep hammering on this, but I'm really jealous of Collector users right now. They have: - desktop software (like us, but with less features that DVDP, most notably cast & crew linking) - a fully functional, browing-only iPhone app - a fully functional, browing-only iPad app on the way - future versions of their iPad app will be able to edit - regular updates, with screenshots, on development: http://www.collectorz.com/ipad-apps.php#screens- Collector Connect: a completely sortable & editable online version of your collection that works on all mobile devices & OS's, as it's completely online (the same as the long promised DVDPO+) Seriously, DVDP, the desktop software is more feature-rich and overall better than Movie Collector, but the rest is seriously lagging behind: no iPhone app, no iPad app, no DVDPO+ and worst of all, no updates, screenshots or anything of the sort of upcoming developments. I know Ken is alone and Collectorz has a team behind their software, but if even the tiniest of update isn't possible, then perhaps it's time for Ken to rethink this and gather more developing power under the hood. Many of us would be happy with already a simple browsing-only iPhone app, which can become an editable one lateron but even that isn't on the horizon Collectorz even has a newsletter to which you can sign up to, to receive the latest development news of various platform. We on the other hand haven't even seen a single screenshot of the iPhone app | | | Blu-ray collection DVD collection My Games My Trophies | | | Last edited: by Taro |

Strangely enough, there is such an option here also under "my profiler->Subscriptions->Keep me up to date with Invelos news and software updates." I never received any mail regarding news and updates though. Further it says "(Mailings are infrequent, and you can opt out at any time)". "Infrequent" means "never" it seems. | | |

| Posted: | | | | Taro, You are so right. I am still updating both apps on both platform. I copy DVDP's covers and used that Collectorz. But I am leaning towards doing it all on Collectorz. Taro, the thing is Collectorz is on Mac while DVDP is on Vista. Can I still import my DVDP data to Collectorz? And what gets imported, all info plus covers? I doubt that. I am also looking at iCollect Movies, that does it on the iPhone itself, including updates of titles when new covers or info is added etc. It also allows you to use pictures from Photo Library and has backup/restore features. Looks promising. Quoting TomGaines: Quote: Quoting Taro:

| Posted: | | | | TomGaines, I had also signed up for that and never gotten an e-mail as well ... I had even forgotten all about it! So, perhaps I should've rephrased and said: "they give you the option to sign up for a news letter and also regularly send them out" Kensong, I think you can import your DVDP data into Movie Collector, regardless of your plaform. All you need to do is make a csv export in DVDP and import that data into MC. If you're in doubt, I think there are guidelines (and a forum) to help you at Collectorz.com | | | Blu-ray collection DVD collection My Games My Trophies |

| Posted: | | | | I've been an avid DVD Profiler user for the past couple of years. I just got an iPhone last week and thought I'd check and see if you have anything in the works. COOL!!!! What a match made in heaven!!
The top feature on my wishlist would be integration with the borrowing feature in the PC version so when friends come over to borrow a movie, I can instantly input and track their selection(s) via the iPhone.
Thanks for keeping things fresh!! |

| Posted: | | | | the more time goes on, the more i realize that my at&t coverage in big box stores frequently sucks... this app needs to have some type of offline mode... and I hate to criticize ken, but this has been going on for awhile, and at this point I would be content with an offline list with basic info for my collection... In fact... I am considering trying to export some type of report to a pdf printer and throw it in iBooks and see if I can manage that for awhile... | | | -JoN |

That's a great idea. I turned my cars workshop manual into PDFs and iBooks does great for that. I just need to export into something OpenOffice can read then I can convert to PDF. Thanks again for the idea! | | | HutcH |

| Posted: | | | | You know, and this is just an idea... I am not a Coder but on the iPad, the DVD Profiler Version should have all of the features of the PC app. Meaning, the size can handle it, some features may be too hard to access on the smaller screened iPod Touch. I have noticed that some developers release software and update it quite often. I have about 400 apps on my iPad and get about 5 or 6 updates a DAY. I have heard that Ken is pretty much alone in development of this app, I even heard rumors that he has been sick...so we really should be patient, and I know we all have been patient to a fault. But Apples Rules of Development could be stalling him, or coding issues? Perhaps when Ken feels it is close, and he does all of Apples "Red Tape" he can do an early release, partial featured version, charge the full price, and update it as he progresses the App? Does that sound fair? From what I can tell, the poor guy has stopped reading this thread, I can't blame him really, as everyone here is dying for the app. But if someone knows him? He may actually like the idea as we can all test the app as it comes along. Just an idea for a very busy guy. |

| Posted: | | | | Going back on topic, another feature I would like to see is the ability to move through the titles via a tab for each letter. When you have a massive collection, it will take forever to scroll down down to a letter like T if you just scroll there. I would like to make sure there is some sort of tabs or something that let you jump directly to the first title that starts with that letter. |

| Posted: | | | | Obviously, I have been out of the loop here. The last time I did an update I read that there would be no way no how that an apple version would be attempted. Now it is in the works. Don't get me wrong, I'm not an advocate of the iphone / ipad platform. I'm an advocate of dvd profiler. Only suggestion I can make is don't sell yourself short. Dvd Profiler is a unique product. I wouldn't want to see the first version of the app to come out and be less of a product than what you already created in your pc and mobile versions. I have been trying and trying to find a mobile pc that works with your software. I had HTC which worked with windows mobile but the product ended up being trash and got trashed. HTC ended up entirely retooling the line and now it can't use your software. Bottomline, trying to find a pda (pocket pc) that isn't a smartphone that has windows mobile is next to impossible. These mobile pc's are being pushed to the side in lieu of the smartphone market. That is where ipad / ipod / iphone seem to have covered all the basis. DVD Profiler paired with apple as an app just seems to be a natural progression. Just sucks that I bought the mobile software and no longer have a mobile device to work with it - but will be well worth it when you come out with the mobile app, whatever the cost (to me that is). Just one question? Is it going to be released in 2010? Can you even tell us? I hope it's soon. Best wishes to the invelos crew. |

| Posted: | | | | I would love to receive important announcements through this app. Either a push notification or something in the app itself. I figure this will get a lot more use than the desktop version (though it's not a bad idea there either). Of course the second request would be that there actually be news to report from time to time! | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. So the dvd profiler version should include this.. of course, as we are all giving up waiting with no update on progress - who knows how many people will bother buying it? | | | Paul |
