Ken Ralston (aka Kenny, but common name Ken) Sound Department (born in 1979) http://www.phonomorphics.co.uk/cv.html Is this really necessary? "Sound Guy" Kenny Ralston hardly ever seems to be credited as Ken - his CV you link to only mentions "Kenny", and IMDb (I know one source is not enough, but just as a quick reference it's interesting to look at) doesn't show a SINGLE actual "Ken" credit for him: all Kenny. So if the visual effects guy is always credited as "Ken" or "Kenneth", and the sound guy is mostly, or even exclusively credited as "Kenny", then no birth years are necessary. |

Now if only we could someone that actually OWNS a copy of 'Fragile'... You're right in that the CLT lists him there as "Ken", but IMDb says he's credited as "Kenny" there. They may well be wrong, of course, but one would think that that "(as Kenny Ralston)" addendum came from somewhere. So the question is: are the credits in the Invelos database ACTUAL, "as credited" entries, or merely IMDb-mined ones, using their common name, being "Ken"? I looked at a few of these profiles, and they do look like they could contain IMDb-mined data: I don't see any use of "credited as" (which would be a sure sign that someone actually did something with the cast/crew data recently) and I see multiple names with different kinds of accents, which CAN happen, but actual film credits tend to miss one occasionally. Again, all circumstantial, but... If it's really "Ken", then you're right. If it's actually "Kenny", then we don't need a birth year for the visual effects guy. Bottom line: who owns a copy of 'Fragile - A Ghost Story' and is willing to check on this credit? | | | Last edited: by T!M |

I've just done an audit on the Australian Profile, UPC 9316797422569, and that's how he appears in the credits. There we go - thanks!! It is then very, very likely that the other 'Fragile' DVD's show him as "Kenny" as well, meaning that there is no "Ken" credit for the sound guy in the database whatsoever (better yet: as of yet it doesn't seem that one even exists anywhere), which in turn means that we don't need a birth year for visual effects guy Ken Ralston. | | | Last edited: by T!M |

Approved and accepted Why was this even submitted? Do you perchance own the title "Love, Cheat and Steal"? It's not even in the Invelos Database. Why submit unnecessary data? | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

I have a TV copy of this movie and verified there is actually an actor credited as Alfred Hitchcock. I submitted this to seperate that actor from Sir Alfred Hitchcock. | | | | | | Last edited: by hallo-marvin |

Then I'm afraid we don't need a birth year in the master database. If 'Love, Cheat and Steal' is ever released on DVD, we'll talk again... Seriously though: if we're going to take TV copies into account, then we might as well start attaching birth years to everyone. Similarly, someone could be using the custom crew credits to enter FULL crew lists, including best boys, carpenters and caterers, and then report that that caused the need for a slew of additional "necessary" birth years (if you go to that level, you'll find namesakes for virtually everyone). We just don't do that. The key question is: are there two people with the exact same (common) name in Invelos' database? If not, then we cannot use a birth year. |

For that reason, I will not be adding it to the list at the beginning of the thread. I hope that Ken or Gerri will remove it from the system. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
