Knowing that on some of your DVDs sitting on your shelf that some and most of the earlier disc were encoded with PC Friendly., The little black emblem on the rear of the DVD jacket near the bottom that states that the disc itself contains a program that could install itself itself on a PC ( NOT a MAC).., and that program is called Interactual Player version xx .. BY clicking yes it would then install itself and playback the disc to your satisfaction.
so can you install this software to play any dvd or does it only play the dvd that its sitting on? | | | Paul |

I was either just trying different programs or trying to troubleshoot problems that might have been related to the player software in use. Maybe after a hard drive format and a clean install of Windows it would work. I've never been able to use it to play anything, so I've NEVER been satisfied |

NOW with all that said and done.., I'll will again try to reason with any of you on why I think my request is a valid one. NOW knowing all this and putting your self into this scenario, wouldn't it be nice to know that contributed titles that had that option was ticked to let you know at a glance of your monitor and the Invelos Software that you have that software at your fingertips.. That garbage should not be included on the DVD itself. Have to agree. I've had to rebuild the software on more than a few PCs that did a choke and puke with that Interactive mess over the years. | | | John

| Posted: | | | | Interactual is spyware crap, and it's NOT DVD PLAYBACK SOFTWARE! Install it all you want, it doesn't have dvd playback capability in and of itself, other software needs to be installed. Wikipedia page here. Note the line "It requires existing DVD player software, which it embeds in the interface for playing the actual DVDs". so the point of not having proper software and using this is moot. | | | Always remember that the crowd that applauds your coronation is the same crowd that will applaud your beheading.
