Hi Achim

I sent you the file, hope everything works out for you.

Received the file. Thank you!

Installed without problems.

Not sure what is going on internally there, but while R1 United States UPCs are found flawlessly (cool!), if I scan a UPC from Hong Kong or United Kingdom it reports "Not found!". (Is the UPC maybe compared with something like the DP_UPC, which has the locality code attached to it?)

Interesting, it shouldn't matter about the localities, I thought I had that worked out. What is the full ID of the profile? If you manually select the profile and copy the ID number that is shown in the Barcode Filter window. I'll see if I'm missing something else.

If I manually paste the UPC into the field I get this:

4895074414626.21
and this
5050582409741.4

Scanned UPCs are:
4895074414626
and
5050582409741

Funny still, I added thoughs UPC's to my collection and everything seems to be working. If you cut and paste 5050582409741, without hitting enter, into the field does it work then?

Edit: Sorry don't think I read your post completely right. Just wanted to make sure you are pasting 5050582409741 and not 5050582409741.4

Well, I am sorry too. the fact that I was seeing the extended numbers on the right (in the blue area) was, because they were currently selected.

Pasting an R1 UPC brings me to the profile. Pasting one of the above UPCs reports Not found!

Sent you a new file, the only change is that it should display the UPC code that's it says it can't find. I need to know what it's actually looking for.

Got the file. Should I have uninstalled first? Because it still only says "Not found!", no others displayed

If so, I'll test it in the morning, it's time to go to bed...

You shouldn't have to uninstall. If you go to view plugins and select upc filter it should say ver 1.4, if it says 1.3 then it didn't install and you might have to undo it first.

Just sent you a new file, didn't look at my setup file script before I recompiled it, it was pointing to an old dll. New file should do what you need.

Hi Mcart,

Looks like my first attempt to your email was banned, renamed and zipped the file. Hopefully it goes through now. If not, you might have to wait for just a little bit, a kind soul has offered to host it.

Cheers.

Got it thanks. It looks to be the one thing the program was missing.

It works as intended now. Thanks!

Well, there is the DVD|Select by UPC option (Alt-F10) which you could scan the UPC into; you'd just have to manually flag the profile after that, which this plugin is doing for you.

Glad you liked it, I thought the program was missing this too that's why it was the first one I wrote. But as Achim already mentioned the standard program can now select this way also, so I don't know if I'm going to be doing much more with it. But if you have any ideas, I'd still would like to hear them.

Cheers,
T

Well, you could add further option besides the flagging (useful for inventory) which the program option doesn't offer but could be useful to some.

Like check box to:
open the DVD|Loan to|Loan to Custom dialog after selecting the profile
open the DVD profile for editing

I know the standard program allows you to select a DVD by scanning it, but I haven't figured out away to get the standard program to auto flag it as your plug in does.

I agree I would like to see it have a loan to option or an auto tag option but as for doing an inventory I think this plug in works nicely by allowing me to scan/flag my collection with out having to switch between  my scanner and my keyboard/mouse to manually flag each DVD after scanning. It made quick work of my 500+ movies (of which I found two missing)
