I seem to recall Ken stating that a re-release cna have previous uncredited as long as it is documented that it came form the database. I voted no because I thought he said he was including cover scans and I didn't see them, that was my bad for not understading his notes.
As for being insulting, to some, the word Kiddo would be an insult. Actually, I recall the same thing, that if you are replicating an exiting profile (as for another locality) that all you have to do is document that that's where the uncredited cast came from. | | | Hal |

"I'll reiterate it here - if the source of the data is not immediately evident, there's no reason to remove uncredited entries. However, if (for instance), the data is a carbon copy of IMDB or any other third party database, that is enough reason to remove it. When removing it, be specific in your contribution notes so we don't pass it over."
There is nothing to support your memory Hal or Erik's.
This touched off a firestorm of concern over whether or not (uncredited) would start being summarily removed.

Being a database administrator professionally you never input incomplete or missing data. To keep the peace I will withdraw the information, but in the future I suggest that when voting on submissions you clearly specify and completely include all reasons why you vote no. End of discussion you will hear no more from me on this. I'd be happy to help via PM so you can stick around. Quoting Kathy: Quote: Quoting 8ballMax:

What Ken said was that (uncredited) can be removed IF it is an obvious clone of a certain Db. And I have said i won't do that, I will try and modify such , to make the connection less obvious. But that is another discussion, in another thread.
Skip Why didn't you vote 'yes' with a 'pretty please no' comment? Quoting hal9g: Quote: Quoting pplchamp:

Skip Not in that quote, but he also said:Quoting Ken Cole: Quote: Copying cast and crew entries from another entries is permissable. Just list that as your source. You should try to verify that the version of the film is the same before the copy, and be sure to check the contribution notes of the source profile. | | | ...James

| Posted: | | | | Darn you James! I just spent the last 15 minutes looking for that post. I finaly find it, and am quite pleased with myself, only to come here and find that you beat me to it. Just kidding. Nice find...though I really did spend 15 minutes trying to find it. I must learn to read faster. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom. I know I am getting old, but I didn't think that my memory was all that bad. I guess I can cancel my reservation at the "old folks home". | | | Hal |

I think that is an important point. If there is no documentation in the contribution notes for the data source, then a wholesale copy should be re-verified. |

I think that is an important point. If there is no documentation in the contribution notes for the data source, then a wholesale copy should be re-verified. No only the wholesale copy. Once verified it's not a wholesale copy, also every single uncredited entry must be verified and documented or removed from the new profile. | | | Achim [諾亞信; Ya-Shin//Nuo], a German in Taiwan.
