Well, I think the above is the way we found.

Maybe the way Partial Assignment worked in 2.5 and how it now works in 3.0 has changed...?

I think I'll have to do some reassignment soon (I removed some from the collection, so it's something on my to-do liost anyway...).

Randall must have each of his DVD's marked physically with a 'number' on the case, otherwise the procedure of renumbering is self evident., If his library is now short those 26 numbers ,and he wants to submit the 'blanks' with future DVD's in their place, he should flag the areas that are out of whack and run (print) a simple report and keep that reference on hand if the 26 titles are not all coming in the next few days, but rather few months, that would be the way I would do it if the jackets are self numbered.
Personally I don't like to physically number my jackets for exactly this reason. Your library changes over the year due  to lost/damaged or sold/traded titles and you should be able to renumber the easiest way and that is to eliminate any missing numbers and keep your library in chronological order. The order of -adding to .
In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.
