Not quite. Say I have Harrison Ford (1890), Harrison Ford (blank). I download a profile with Harrison Ford (1890) - all the ones with blank are changed to 1890.
Like I said before, Harrison Ford (because there are 3 of them, not because of Harrison Ford per se) is a different situtation.
You are thinking a blank BY as a separate person. DVDp is looking at a blank BY as simply missing data and will try to correct it the first chance it gets. If that's what DVDP is doing, it should QUIT it. There's no way to automatically replace a blank BY with a CORRECT BY -- so DVDP shouldn't even try (as if DVDP is a real person and not a computer program ). | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole) Badges? I tried to do a credit lookup on this name and of course only found 600 plus entries all for today's Harrsion Ford .. | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. I thought it was in the DB as 1890 as well which is why I was wondering. | | | "Rules are for the obedience of fools and the guidance of wise men" - Douglas Bader "A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools." - Douglas Adams | | | Last edited: by Vega |

| Posted: | | | | Odd. I have a zillion updates accepted giving Harrison Ford that we all know and love a BY to seperate him from this other Ford and I put in his BY was 1882. Now I wonder where I got that from. |

Here's a few that came up on Amazon, but there's probably others. You are thinking a blank BY as a separate person. DVDp is looking at a blank BY as simply missing data and will try to correct it the first chance it gets. but this is exactly the problem. It is a separate person - its someone who has a different value from those with a BY | | | Paul |

| Posted: | | | | Paul's right. When a BY is downloaded in an update, Profiler should ask you which actors to update, not automatically fill in the blank BYs. |
