| Posted: | | | | Who cares about Sony BD players? There are and will be better standalones on the market at competitive prices from other CE manufacturers. Unlike HD DVD with Toshiba, Sony isn't the only game in town. |

| Posted: | | | | Sorry Skip. Gotta disagree with you there. Microsoft is by far the winner in that category. The format war was their way to force VC-1 (which failed) but they are trying to get their proprietary hooks into ODF by trying to brute force OOXML being passed as the standard. And that's just two of the most recent examples.
At least Sony shared the wealth by working with many companies to develop and refine Blu-ray and the patents are spread around. It's not an all-Sony format, no matterhow often it gets repeated.. |
