Quote: Also, I only saw Coppola's comment on cell phones (usually less than 5cm and low end mono audio). I didn't see any mention of larger, more capable viewing devices as a visual complement to home viewing. Ahh, the old "tricks" are still being utilized, since Coppola didn't mention every single tiny-screen device out there, he must love everything else!
Anyway, this will go nowhere since we don't have the opinions of the zillion filmmakers, cast, and crew at hand. I merely agreed with Battling Butler's comments.
I'll take this...
Over this... It seems like you were doing the opposite "tricks". Since Coppola mention cell phone screen, he must hate everything within a range that only you can determine for him. I'm just not assuming he meant anything else but what he said. Like I said before, it seems like you're doing the opposite of that. Also, that TV pic you posted is still nowhere near the size of a public theater screen (the way it was meant to be seen by some industry folk). That must still be a disappointment to those people, right? Just to make sure everyone gets what I said earlier, I'm saying a PSP can be a good mobile COMPLEMENT to watching movies in your home theater/entertainment area. | | | To err is human... ----------- 473 Blu-ray Titles |

Like I said before, it seems like you're doing the opposite of that. Actually, Coppola doesn't mention anything, he just reacts to the interviewers comment. Judging by his reaction - which obviously everyone has to "interpret" for themselves - he doesn't seem thrilled with the notion of tiny-screen viewings of his works. That must still be a disappointment to those people, right? When the film is playing in theaters, yes. After, when it's out on BD/DVD, you'll have to ask them individually about what they are "OK with" for home viewings. Quote: Just to make sure everyone gets what I said earlier, I'm saying a PSP can be a good mobile COMPLEMENT to watching movies in your home theater/entertainment area. Right. And before this becomes annoying (too late? darn...), I'll end with this quote from David Lynch, who is, whether you like his films or not, certainly a visualist to put it mildly... "Now, if you're playing the movie on a telephone, you will never in a trillion years experience the film. You'll think you have experienced it, but you'll be cheated. It's such a sadness that you think you've seen a film on your f-ing telephone. Get real."http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wKiIroiCvZ0 | | | Erik

Digressions and tangents, Saiyan. You should check out some Lynch films for a bit more of the non-linear. | | | Erik
