| Posted: | | | | at least until Ken decides one way or another on the request you could do a couple different things. You could use the notes field. Or you could do an html window. The only thing with this is that you would have to do all the work yourself... it is not something that would be be able to contribute. But I think contributing such info would be difficult at best since you would have to give multiple sources on this type of thing when contributing. But I find html windows works great for things not already in the program. See below an example of the one I use for TV Series episode guides. So maybe something like the above but listing the cast/crew with whatever notes your would want to have? I know it is not exactly what you are looking for but if nothing else it puts the info into profiler and if enough people like the idea maybe you can share the info with other the way we do with the episode guides (see my sig file). | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Skip, READ the request. He wants to add notes to an actor, not to a movie profile. Adding notes to a profile is not the solution to this request. |

| Posted: | | | | This is true... which is why I said at least until Ken decides one way or the other about this request. Even if Ken decides to do it... it could take him years to get around to it. we have seen that over and over again. I know I been asking for TV Series rating for the US all the way back in the Intervocative days. And we are just seeing that now. | | | Pete |

I think that is my biggest wish now too...who knows with any luck... after all that is one that has been requested since we got the boxset feature. Though I can't say I am disappointed with the current beta... he has done some great additions IMO. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Hehe, I hear that! It's not so bad with TV sets and stuff, the children are all named the same, but when it's disparate sets of movies... yeek!
I'm also pleased with the 3.5 additions, but I do think we should push Ken to revamp the rules before 3.5 contributions are enabled. There are lots of areas which need clarification, and it would be best to make it possible to update those and the new 3.5 fields in one fell swoop. If nothing else, it would be easier on the screeners. |

For example, I would like to note on all places where Henry Fonda is a cast member, that he was a cousin of mine. Likewise for Jane, etc. Also for the Barrymores. You get the idea, eh? Not the role, but the actor. This would be a great addition to the program. | | | ...James

| Posted: | | | | I will tell you what I found myself wanting here lately. could be a kinda add on to this request if it ever comes to be. what with all the possible images we can add now (gallery, headshot, headshot per profile) I would like to be able to make a gallery connected to the actors themselves. That way when I click on the actor name... it bring up the list of movies as usual with a link to a gallery of images for the actor whether headshots, promotional photos, magazine photos screen caps... or what have you.
I see myself using that much more then a notes section attached to an actor.
but at the same time I kinda see both the requests going slightly beyond what the program was meant to be... at least what I always looked at it to be meant for. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Oh God, if i had to start listing my wants for the program...eeeegads. I guess my current top would be better definition of Features. The auto-downloading of children is nice but i think there are bigger and better things that should come first. Just my opinion. Skip | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Like maybe some place to indicate titles of featurettes -- as part of the better definition of features. Or maybe somewhere to indicate who participates in commentaries. To me, either of these would be much more useful than fleshed out actor biographies/notes. | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole) Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges. | Posted: | | | | Quoting dav4is: Quote: We're getting a bit off topic now. Please take other discussions elsewhere. Not really. You asked for a feature, we're saying that we feel other features would be more important to us. I don't want to jump on a newby, but for someone who only registered here 2 days ago, you've already posted 8 different Feature Request messages -- some of which are similar. I think it's a little presumptuous to expect messages to fit your narrow definition of what's "on topic." If you think this discussion is "off topic" just wait until you've been around this forum a while longer and you'll see what is REALLY off topic. | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole) Badges? And the majority of it is at least remotely connected to the thread topic. Trust me, around here, that's pretty darn impressive. Especially when Skip is involved. With that said, it's a feature I'd never use. I'd love it if I we could submit/download the data from the main database, but we just barely agree on how to enter the correct runtime. Something like this would be completely unmanageable. Besides that, I'm not sure what advantage this would give me over hitting something like IMDB or searching the web for additional information on the person. I'm very rarely against any particular request and I'm not actually voting against this one. But I'd love to see some solutions to existing problems we have profiling DVDs before something like this (such as multiple movies on a single disc). So I guess I'm neutral on the issue. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. Create fake parent profiles to organize your collection. |
