IMO if we would have contributable custom role names additionally to the standard role names, a lot of discussion about crew credits would go away. Every role would be listed as credited, but we would still make the connection between those role name variants and the standard role. So a director could be credited with "directed by" or "Regie" or whatever credit but the database would still know that the credit has been made for the "director". There could be an option whether custom, standard or both role names should be displayed locally.
