Unless I am misunderstanding you, this doesn't happen. Take Ben Affleck, in 'The Sum of All Fears', as an example. Because the end credits are in 'order of appearance', I have him listed twice...once above the divider in opening credits order and again under the divider as per end credits. When I double click on him in another movie, his role only shows one time for this profile. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | That is true... they are only counted once per profile in the program. But IF I remember correctly when I was using phpdvdprofiler... there it actually counted every occurrence even the multiple times per profile showed up there. Not that... that should be a consideration on the matter... it just popped in my head when I read this. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | The only reason I mentioned for local use, is (skip is right) there is so much bickering about everything else that gets contributed. I figured if it was implemented on a local level, then it would not be another thing to argue about, and the individual could use it at his discretion. Trying to keep the peace |

No, the credits would not be doubled in the profile, neither in the database nor on the display. Only a little checked box would indicate that in the original movie the actor has been credited twice. |

Similar to the photo indicator, we could have a little star next to the name. If you choose to sort by the star, it would revert to the order entered in the field. I like the idea of numbering the cast that are top-bill credited in opening (or "pre-closing") credits. In addition, I would enhance it as follows: 1. reports could have a "top-billed" display option that uses the order data and is limited to only those cast elements containing the top-billed order. 2. the program itself would have a cast display option would replicate through programming what some of the users are already manually doing...a viewable top-billed list then a separator followed by the cast in proper credits order. I think this would save some of the double entry that users are doing locally as well, and at the same time would enhance or make more useful the display and reporting of casts. It would also solve the double-reporting problem in phpDVDProfiler. What do you guys think? EDIT: I just realized this wouldn't work flawlessly on TV show profiles, especially if they "top-billed" credits vary in certain episodes on a single disc (Babylon 5 comes to mind for a small handful of episodes). But I'm sure we could figure out a way to make the idea work. | | | Last edited: by nolesrule |
