Simply choose the correct category and then just enter the role as on screen As this would lead into many new entries, I would say as first step we need a better way than we have now for linking. But then I would say it is a great idea. We would stop discussions if an additional ... or a sequence director or a ... is allowed. Also we wouldn't need to do big researches for not american credits which is an allowed direct translation. And it would give the users the possibility to track what they think it is worth. ("2nd level Crew") I always think locally deleting is easier than adding, but I also like the idea of having the option to choose at an update which crew member you will add. If this will be included I'd like to see an addition: It would be good to have not just a writing field. I should also have the possibility to choose in this field the roles I have once entered. (Sorry, don't know how such fields are called correctly) |

From a database point of view, I would not like to loose the standard role names. I own films from many different countries which feature credits in many different languages. Most of them I can hardly understand. So, without the standard role names, I would only know the category of the credit without knowing what the credited person actually did in the film. But I could imagine such a system with the standard role name in addition to a 'credited as' role name. |

(Easier way to check the credits, ...) But in the suggested way I would just like to see it as option. If it would stay a must, the problem of the research which foreign language credit is this or that would remain. And for credits which would not match to the crew role perfectly, we would need new standard role names + we would lose the possibility of tracking new kinds of credits, because we don't have standard roles for them. |
