In addition to a lot of above, I'd like the ability to have a few personal customisable checkboxes, for local use only, not for contributions.

Another box I'd like to see is a "Scene After Credits" box.

Over recent years there seem to be a lot more films that have scenes at the end of the credits (Wolverine, X-Men 1-3, Iron Man, Incredible Hulk all spring to mind).

I'd like a tickbox as I'm always forgetting these scenes exist.

I wouldn't want this because it's not a Disc Feature.  (Good idea for a tag, though.)

My mind keeps going back and forth on this one... I understand your point on it... and part of me really agrees. But there is also a part of me that would like this as part of the downloaded profile (maybe not in with the features but..) as there has been many times I missed a final scene after the credits because I didn't know about it and had to go back (last one I remember doing this for would be Iron Man) So being in the profile (somewhere) would really help. as I wouldn't have to depend only on myself to find them out (unlike with tags).

I agree.  Not sure where, but it would be nice to have it noted.

in regards to the "Scene after credits" box, perhaps a logical spot for it would be general information. It kind of fits in with run time. Run time already includes credits so a check box noting additional scene after credits might flow well here logically.

As I was posting I also got to thinking how a lot of people use run time when selecting a movie to watch because they only have x time. well you can actually shave a few minutes off unless you watch the credits to the end. so this check box could then alert you to fast forward through the credits and not totally skip them.

I have two desires for profiler at this moment which would be high priority for me if i were developing it.

I don't think we need more Feature Checkboxes necessarily. I think we would be much better served by being able to to list the specifics relative to the features, from either the back cover or the menus. I envision the system to work as follows. The checkboxes would remain, I can see where there might be SOME users who don't want the specifics. We would be able to list for example Commentary by Actor X and Director Z for a given title, this could even be expanded into a system which would include a checkbox that would tell the system whether this was specific to this title, or some new Generic such as Digital Copy which Ken could then extract that data for some future program release.

My othe big wish would be some new data fields which in combination with our existing data would nail down any specific title and hopefully eliminate the problems caused by duplicate UPC/EANs. I would add TWO new fields, one would be for the ISBN number when available, and the other would be for Distributor Catalog number (both of these fields would be alpha numeric) ithin these two new fields coupled with Disc ID and UPC/EAN could be used to pin down exactly which title we are referring to. I haven't researched it yet, but this may also help with re-release coverss with the same UPC as they may not use the same ISBN or Catalog #...I will have to study this one. Memo to self.

Lots of good ideas here, I really like the "Scene after credits" one and think it would be good to have it on download as I have missed these lots of times.

Great ideas, Skip!

Regarding features: I like your ideas about adding specifics, however I feel that there are a few features that could use a checkbox, especially features specific to Blu-ray (e.g. BD Live content).

Your idea for an additional identifier could work very well indeed!

Thanks Dejay. been working on this concept for years and polishing it. You are correct there are some things that would still be more appropriately handled via Checkbox, CC, THX, BD-Live and so forth. The one part i am still wrestling with a little, Scene Access, under my concept we could conceivably include specific data regarding scene access when it's available, I don't think i am interested in it personally, but I am sure there are those that would be.

Even the multiple identifiers is something I have been noodling over for several years now, aside from the memo I made to myself for further study, I firmly believe that this would solve our problems with multiple UPC?EANs. The four identifiers used in conjunction should be able to narrow down precisely which title we are dealing with...duplicate UPC/EAN or no.

I am still trying to figure out a happy medium between the realtively messy crew data we have now and completely open crew creds. There has to be one, but I haven't figured it out yet. The biggest problem i am having is dealing with what we have now and what might be added in the future, I'll figure it out, I always do but it's a toughie.

I have a few other ideas up my sleeve as well, but I don'tlike to overload the overlord of the program... ...all in good time.

I would also like to see the trailers be divided into 2 check boxes... 1 for the Theatrical trailer for the movie on the disc... and one for any bonus trailers (any movie/show not on the disc).

+1

+me too
Even better would be something that identified the movies that are featured in the bonus trailers, since often they'll be missing from that movie's disc but be lurking on some other disc.

Not interested in a checkbox. I want to be able to define them.

I'm for most of these suggestions, but I especially like Skip's idea about being able to define them.

Several years ago I started popping in each and every DVD to check for trailers and while I searched, my wife wrote down the Movie title and which trailers were on it including trailers for the movie inserted. I started to create an Excel document that would have cross references so you could find specific trailers when you were trying to locate one for someone to view. After about a hundred, which took a lot of our time, I realized this was going to take to much time and it got left in the dust. I still have Definable and searchable would make this 10 time easier and could enlist the help of others interested in the same thing. Maybe it could include an area for version of trailer (i.e. international trailer, int tlr; theatrical trailer, tlr1, tlr2; featurette, fte1; clip1; teaser, tsr1, etc.) and length.

Just as an FYI - I have collected the best resolution available at the time of every trailer posted on Apple.com/trailers for the past 5 years or so. I have over 100GB of data. Sorry, I got a bit long-winded, but once I got started I couldn't stop, you know diarrhea of the fingers.

Wanted to bump this thread in hopes to see a Play All check box in features. Not only for TV Shows... but would work for shorts and other multi-feature releases.

A detailed list of special features would be very useful. It would mean you could actually compare editions meaningfully in the program.
