| Posted: | | | | Acoustic signatures can be used to identify music, don't know about video though. Maybe some image match algorithm like Google use.
Adding downloads could otherwise be (another) good reason to move away from disc based profiles to movie based profiles. The "disc" data could then be added depending on media type. | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 | | | Last edited: by Nexus the Sixth |

| Posted: | | | | here are plenty of TV shows only offered by streaming or download. The main issue I see is that this format has very little of the kind of data we track. They don't have special features, covers, multiple audio tracks or really anything but cast, crew, runtime, SRP and a title. There's a long-time request to handle movies separately from profiles. This way, if an actor in The Matrix needs a birth year, we don't have to change 100+ profiles for all the releases around the world. If we have separate movie profiles, then it would be pretty easy to track downloaded stuff with a custom media type and manual profiles since the movie, which is the only real data you need, is taken care of. |

The Into_now-app uses Acoustic signature to identify TV-episodes and (some) movies. Special features: Seldom, but not never, (eg. "Prison Break", making a scene, in iTunes) Cover: Could we use the one used in the shop? (Is this another copyright q than the (paper-) cover?), Audio tracks and subtitles: already present, Video Format: HD & SD (at different prices, as compared to physical medias) Overview: Present Cast: Of major interest to me! (...but I don't know for shows ONLY offered by streaming or d/l, my thoughts was for streaming/d/l, in general) My point? Although not all data may be present, I still would love to have "all" formats in DVDP | | | Karsten |
