And did you try running Money 98 in compatibility mode? I have used that for a couple of programs that did not run initially. I also liked Windows XP. But Windows 7 has some enjoyable refinements. I'm liking Windows 8 more and more - been using it for a few days now (via TechNet). | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! And did you try running Money 98 in compatibility mode? They also have a free replacement for Money 98. | Posted: | | | | I have been using Money 98 since .. well since 1999 .. and each year this 'cheque book' has all my yearly transactions in it so If I want to see how much I bought in grocery's or Gas in 2003 or 2006 it's there .. Each Dec31 I save the .mny file to another folder (named 1999.mny etc ) and then start off fresh with new starting balance and then start cataloging my yearly finances for the next 365 days .. This program worked in my windows 95/ windows 98 /windows 2000/ windows ME /and then finally XP pro ..
When I got a new laptop in 2009 I found that windows 7 will see the file .mny but won't install the money 98 software program ., it will install money 2004 but that is a totally different piece of software even though the extensions are still .mny
So my standalone PC with XP I use outlook express which works a lot faster then Live windows mail which I hate .. it wants me to use Hotmail or what ever and it does work.. but I find it too bulky for what I need for emails every day .. I then save all my important OE emails and export them over to Outlook and then further save these .pst over to disc for a hard disc save ..
Complicated.,, but I'm happy in using duel PC's during the day .. I Believe to this day that there are More XP programs up and running still than windows 7 . | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.

| Posted: | | | | Like most other software, it would likely still work with Win7's Virtual PC XP Mode, but you would have to get that first which (assuming you aren't running Pro or Ultimate) probably costs more than just buying the newest version of M$ Money | | | If at first you don't succeed, skydiving isn't for you.

If you have Outlook available why do you use Outlook Expless? Why do you keep your posts on local drive instead of server? |

It also have problems if the computer have more than one user. |
