New version is up and it's incredibly fast.

However, longest search path is disabled (for now?) because the algorithm is build differently.

It occurs to me that it might make a difference if you compared the two persons and always used the one with the least number of credits as a starting point.

In the previous version it made quite a dramatic difference. In this one I really couldn't tell if switching the persons made any difference in speed.

My colleague uploaded his graph to this github: https://github.com/michaelroth1/mitoSoft.Graphs

The Graph is perfect for our needs, you could easily switch your DpLink program to it because it creates exactly the hops you need: from actor to movie to actor to movie ...

This is all the code I need to create the graph: https://github.com/DJDoena/SixDegreesOfDVDProfiler/blob/master/SixDegreesLibrary/GraphBuilder.cs

Many thanks, Karsten!

I think it might be overkill to update DpLink, it doesn't have any long hops, but I will certainly study it and keep it in mind for future reference!

Hey,

a new version is out which has a fun new feature: A graphics output!

What you need for this besides this newest version is a piece of free software called Graphviz. You can download it here.

And then you can explore your collection for the strangest relationships!
