I found another App called "My Movies" which is available as a Light and a Pro Version.
Light Version Pro Version
Check it out I looked at it and it's impressive .. very similar in function to my aborted application. The only thing I didn't like was the windows app to load my collection into my device. I found the syncing to be a bit counterintuitive and two attempts managed to load.. then wipe my collection and as it seems to be a poor mans alternative to DVD profiler needing to pay again after buying the full android app to store the data on the server for remote syncing.. however that said, the Android app was pretty slick. I was using the basic gallery code for cover images but have subsequently changed to a coverslide component set that looks much better. My main problem is getting the XML directly into the device. I'm currently parsing the XML on the Android device .. perhaps a small windows "sync" app to copy the images/data across would be better and then that could work automatically as a plug in to DVD profiler. I like it and it's currently being used on my device in place of my own code until such times as I get my code to load the data properly. .. this may take some time |

You might want to take a look at my Restifier plugin (available from the Plugin download section). It exposes a list of profiles along with a tag you can use to determine if the profile xml or the cover images needs to be redownloaded. It also allows you to download cover images at a maximum size/quality setting. | | | Regards Lars |

Check it out Nice. I bought the app and now have my collection on my phone. Simple. No need to connect to the computer if you put your collection on their web site. The Android app will sync from there. I'm still interested in a DVD Profiler Android app for now. If I get too much into this other way, I may not care any more..... |

| Posted: | | | | I have been a user of this program from the beginning but I will look for something else now. I think that it´s sad that no android version has been developed. If the development to new markets is that slow Profiler has no future. |

But if you enter any dvd's not in their database and synch to your android it will not show them on the android, for this function to work you have to purchace 2500 points $1=25 points $100 , but just found out that you can export the data from My Movies then copy it to the android works great. | | | Last edited: by jayrox |

| Posted: | | | | Hi everyone! I have been keeping an eye in this post for a couple of months and it is rather frozen, would it be possible to receive just a brief confirmation that an Android version is under development? A "Yes" or "Not" answer would be enough (an estimated release date would be an unthinkable delight). Regards |

I have noticed over the years, Ken is often cleaver with his wording when discussing the program. When I read the above quote, I took that to mean that the Android version is either in the planning stages or (wishfully) in development. I would think that if he has no plans for Android, he would've said it either directly or indirectly (like: we have not announced an Android version). Of course, this is just IMHO. | | | My phpDVDprofiler collection |

True. I did not buy anything other than the Android app at this point. I already paid for DVD Profiler and I really do not want to buy another app for the same thing. Of course now I'll have to buy another Android app if Invelos releases one soon. Now like I said, if I get too much into the other app (far enough that I have to pay anything), then I will stay with it. Right now my immediate need has been met - I have my 2000+ movie collection on my Android. |
