| Posted: | | | | you have me completely wrong Skip, I'm not attacking you at all, just stating my honest opinions, which as you say carry as much weight as yours. All I want is what's best for the community.

| Posted: | | | | Right.... not attacking me. I don't believe you, rick. as I said Rick, if you can't control yourself and you clearly can't, then STOP HARASSING me Let me ask you a question, Rick. Since when is it OK to use the back cover of a title to list Cast and Crew data,,,,hmmmmm. Yes it was you and that data that should not have been accepted because of the Rules violation was indeed accepted. So don't try and call me on the Rules. Skip | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! I think most people would like to be able to add more crew data, like Special Effects, Set Designer, Visual effects, etc, etc, the question really is what is the best method to do this. From my own observations I will say that if you think Sound and some of the other areas have been PITAS under the current system, you ain't seen nothing yet.
Skip Maybe you should have an option limiting crew jobs to those that can win Academy awards. Costume Design, Special Effects, etc., come to mind. But it would be god-awful to have to wade through pages and pages of best boys and grips, and all the rest of grunts that make up most of the crew on any movies. | | | John

Once the poll is finished and the actual feature wanted is clear then that "feature request" should be asked for in this forum. What is so hard to understand? Can't you read English? Or is this just another opportunity to hammer Skip? | | | John

| Posted: | | | | I thought about that as well, John. Unfortunately, most film credits aren't all that clear. Trust me the last thing I would want to see is someone deciding to list ALL 20 minutes of credits for LOTR.<shivers>But, personally speaking the existing system has been far worse than I dreamed and Sound or Writing is a piece of cake compared to some of the Other Categories, working within the existing sysetm. I frankly don't have a clue what the answer is, I see some possibilities, but the endles debates and discusions over every little thing...

Skip please show me what title I submitted where I put in my notes "cast and crew from rear cover" That is absolutely ludicrous to accuse me of any such thing. |

No John, what I am asking here is where do I say "Yes, I like this feature" or "No, I do not like this feature" That would make it a feature request. Or is this just another opportunity to jump to the aid of Skip? | | | Last edited: by lyonsden5 |

Man, the self-esteem problem you guys have must be really horrible since you can't communicate in any way other than to try a demean and belittle anything another user has to say. What a pathetic life you must live. As far as I am concerned you guys are grossly guilty of harassment at every turn and the sooner that action is taken the better.
Andrew you randomly and consistently insult me with nearly every post you make. You think your crap doesn't stink. You follow me around and if I have a comment to make you, Rick, Hal and James are sure to show up and attack, demean and beliittle the comment. there are many thread i post nothing in, but there is not thread that I do post in that the Four Musketeers don't show up to enagage in their usuial bash fest. Be gone all of you, do the world a favor.
Skip It is posts like this that open you up to criticism. Until you understand that, it will continue. And back on topic, do you honestly believe that your third choice doesn't show a clear bias. Including that kind of statement automatically disqualifies the results. | | | Hal | | | Last edited: by hal9g |

| Posted: | | | | To try to get on topic, I think open credits, while sounding good, would be a total nightmare. I think the current table of acceptable roles should be re-worked to add a couple of obscure role credits that are the same as current credits and to clarify a couple of areas like Composer/Song Writer. We should probably have a few more roles for people that are interested in costume design, makeup, etc, but I think we should have each additional new role in its own poll/feature request thread. I do think we should start a standard of using polls with new feature requests with yes/no/something else choices. That would give Ken a very fast way of determining the popularity of a feature without having to wade through pages (sometimes filled with O/T posts ) of opinions. | | | Kevin |

I agree with you on the nightmare aspect, Kevin. But...that might be perferable to all the Ongoing arguments, fights , discussions and people trying to crawl under the fence. There would be no more discussion, simply list what you see, Adaptation by does not get shoehorned in somehwere, it is Adaptation by. Skip | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. | Posted: | | | | Open credits would have to be limited to only certain roles or we will be seeing caterer, lawyers, accountants, painters, plasterers, animal wranglers, carpenters, electricians, welders, underwater welders, drivers, assistant drivers, assistant-assistant-2nd Director trainee, production associate, assistant to Mr fillinthename, hair dressers, first aid, weapons manager, weapons trainer, janitor, payroll clerks, divers, safety managers, thousands of special effect company people, programmers, members of the local PTA, thanks to the fillinthename, cameras by, filmed on, The characters in this film are fictional and do not represent any person living or dead and any similarity between any such persons is purely unintentional and so on for ever and ever Amen. I can not imagine that anyone whose elevator goes all the way to the top would want anything like that for the credits in DVDProfiler. | | | Kevin |

| Posted: | | | | LOL, Kevin I agree with what you have said, but I am not sure hhowthat would work. My personal nightmare is someone actually listing ALL the credits for LOTR Trilogy, and yes I am afraid someone would ACTUALLY do it, if they could.
