| Posted: | | | | yup, just ironing out some stuff. I have the main parts working, but when it is only for me, I can just hammer things in. Have to be more careful when working with other peoples stuff. I now know why the 1000 file limit, jeepers, the ipod takes forever to process the 30 odd files that I'm giving it now. BTW, what Ipod are you using now? I've written it for a video ipod (it's almost 2 years old) but it can handle cover art (which is what really attracted me to this). | | | The Other DVD Forum Why do people who know the least know it the loudest? |

| Posted: | | | | I'm interested. I have having to print out my wish list and find a movie that I like but not really sure if I own it or not. It would be nice to just use my IPOD since I carry this everywhere. I have a much older PDA that isn't supported and would rather just use my IPOD instead of buying a new PDA. |

| Posted: | | | | Hi Verdejt,
Sure if you want to beta test, PM me your email address. I wanted to let M666 test it first because a) it was his original post, b) he volunteered. But he seems to be away for the weekend.
If it works fine for you and maybe a couple more, I'll ask Mediadogg to post it for everybody. | | | The Other DVD Forum Why do people who know the least know it the loudest? |

| Posted: | | | | I loaded the plugin without a problem but you should really include a readme with step by step instructions. Most people don't know that they have to "enable disk use" before you can access the notes. Other than that it works great. I wish there wasn't a note size limit. Now all I have to do is remember to take my IPOD in the store with me. Thanks for all your hard work. |

| Posted: | | | | Well, I assumed from your PM that you were already using the notes feature on the Ipod, so I didn't include that part in the email. I'll include more documenation when I release it to eveybody. But thanks for the headups. Some people might not like to have to enable that, as it causes them to have to manually eject the Ipod from their computer.
The 4k limit on note size was a downer, but also the 1000 file limit. Could have done a lot more if that was removed, mini profiles etc.
Glad you appreciate it though. | | | The Other DVD Forum Why do people who know the least know it the loudest? |

| Posted: | | | | Tlevel, the plugin works great!! it exported nicely to the ipod, I even did the cover art to see what sort of load it would carry. It took a while at first to load the notes, but once they were loaded it went fast.
The only downfall I see is when you click the dvdprofiler notes, its divided up a little funny... it spells out the titles... whats hard to figure out is what falls where... is there a way to get it simplified more like a dictionary?
like @-0 a-ag ah-az b-bl bm-bz
etc?
is that a possibility? its hard to read it the way it is now.. | | | _________________________________________________________________________ "Crush your enemies, see them driven before you and hear the lamentation of the women!" |

| Posted: | | | | i see you had it broken down to so many letters of the titles? maybe limit the letters to like 4 or something?
would that work? | | | _________________________________________________________________________ "Crush your enemies, see them driven before you and hear the lamentation of the women!" |

| Posted: | | | | or better yet, maybe an option for either/or
again just tossing ideas, and to be honest, this is a godsend!
I really appreciate it, and it works great! Even if it can be hard to read, it works... and it works well Thanks! | | | _________________________________________________________________________ "Crush your enemies, see them driven before you and hear the lamentation of the women!" |

| Posted: | | | | That's the easy part, might make that user definable on the first screen. Currently it's the first 15 characters of the first title and the first 15 characters of the last title, (Using the sort title). Since you are limited in the number of titles you can have per file and you might have lots of profiles with TV series, ie Seinfeld comes to mind, I didn't want a couple of notes with Se-Se, Se-Se. | | | The Other DVD Forum Why do people who know the least know it the loudest? |

| Posted: | | | | I wanted to ask too, is there any kind of fail safe in place in case you choose too many entries per section? so it doesn't clip off titles you own?
or how does that work? I put mine to 75 entries, but can't tell if any movies might be missing.... | | | _________________________________________________________________________ "Crush your enemies, see them driven before you and hear the lamentation of the women!" |

| Posted: | | | | It'll stop when it either hits 75 entries (or whatever you selected) or 4K whichever comes first.
That's another thing I liked about having the title ranges the way I had them. You can tell if everything is showing up if the last title in the list is the same as the "from-to" title on the previous screen. (hope that made sense).
BTW, the hard to read comment was about the titles grouping screen I hope. :-) Cause we can work on that. | | | The Other DVD Forum Why do people who know the least know it the loudest? | | | Last edited: by Cool_doodad |

| Posted: | | | | yeah it was about the grouping screens
other screens were great gives me a lot of the titles and things looked good.
Only reason I would ask for shorter groupings is becuase I like to look quickly while I'm at a store to make sure I don't have a certain movie already.
which some people might not prefer... which is where user defined might come in handy...
Something I just thought of if you load the notes on your ipod, and then change a setting and reload them on again, does it delete the previous folder and make a new one? or how is that working? | | | _________________________________________________________________________ "Crush your enemies, see them driven before you and hear the lamentation of the women!" |

| Posted: | | | | Doesn't delete the folder, just all the files in the folder and starts fresh from there (so don't store any files in those directories ;-). The ipod will then reload all the files again. , I did it this was, because a) it was easier, and b)the ipod would reload all files again if I changed one or all of them so it didn't matter. If b didn't happen, I would have approach it a little different. | | | The Other DVD Forum Why do people who know the least know it the loudest? |
