Start> Right Click on My Documents Enter the Drive and Path you want your My Documents link to point to...any folder on any drive. Click OK or Apply and it will move all files in My Documents to the new location. |

| Posted: | | | | Many, many thanks, nolesrule.
I just wish I'd learned that a few years ago.
The embarrassing thing is that it's so damn obvious once you’ve seen it.
Again, thanks. |

| Posted: | | | | Tom, there seems to be a bug in Cinematic Viewer 3.x to 2.x XML import/export conversion. Something is happening with the CTL characters. See this thread on what cmhardwick says...I see these as well: http://xlobby.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=5814&start=15 | | | Last edited: by thekochs |

Would it solve your problem, if during the export CRLF is replaced with LF again?

| Posted: | | | | There are other characters not displaying correctly as well, I think. usually special characters. When you look at the converted (2.0) xml, they are coded like &20, etc. Similar to what you see in a web URL with spaces. These "codes" are not present in the "pre-import" file
Hope this helps. | | | Last edited: by cmhardwick |

Hope this helps. These are probably characters which cannot by the US-ASCII file output. Such characters are "–" instead of "-" or "` ´", I think. At least there were problems with those then. These also made problems reading in with MSXML when I remember correctly. The encoding of the old Profiler XML files were US-ASCII and that it what was used by MSXML. Some characters were therefore not read correctly. Can someone provide me with an Profiler 3 XML, where the problem arrise?

| Posted: | | | | Funny, when I asked for this option MONTHS ago I was laughed at. I would prefer Ken add the export as 2.4 option. I mean microsoft has save file as (07, 95-03, etc) options.
Funny thing is when I convert the "funny" characters crash my xlobby. Send me a beta, i'll try it out. rdance3@optonline.net |

| Posted: | | | | Tom, both cmhardwick and I tried the Beta EXE and all works fine now. Can/Will you incorporate this into a 1.4.9 ? If so, do we need to delete our existing database first and re-import in our for this to not have existing conflicts ? |

Send me a beta, i'll try it out. rdance3@optonline.net MS has that so that the file can work with earlier versions of its software. It wasn't designed so that your MS Word document could be read by other software. I still think it should be up to those external programs to support the latest version of the DVD Profiler export. Remember, Xlobby claimed that its program could use the XML file from DVDP; Ken never made the claim. That said, Tom has done a lot of people a favor by making the v2.4 export available, but it's not Ken's responsibility. |

| Posted: | | | | Many thanks to Tom for 1.5.1 which you can now batch a Profiler export, CCViewier import of that 3.x XML and export to 2.4 XML. All automated !!! Tom helped me out getting this correct and I wish I could upload the files but they are simple so here they are... Create this BAT and TXT files. Note, for this example I have the CCViewer.EXE, my CCViewer database (DVDs.mdb), and both the Proifler export XML (collection3) and CCviewer export XML (collection2) all in same directory. Once these are created just run (double click on it in Windows Explorer or create a shortcut) the BAT file....it should automatically open Profiler, you see an export, close Profiler, open CCviewer, you see an import, then you see an export, close CCViewer, done. Conversion.batCd\ ECHO Converting (Import/Export) DVD Profiler 3.x XML to 2.4 XML "C:\Program Files\DVD Profiler\dvdpro.exe" /CommandFile C:\Convert\ProfilerCommand.txt C:\Convert\CCViewer.exe C:\Convert\CCVCommand.txt ECHO Completed pause ProfilerCommand.txtExportXMLAll C:\Convert\collection3.xml Close CCVCommand.txtOpenDatabase C:\Convert\DVDs.mdb ImportProfilerDatabase C:\Convert\collection3.xml ExportProfiler2Database C:\Convert\collection2.xml Close NOTE: If you want to put these in a directory under MyDocs and thus have long path names you can do this. However, if there are any spaces in that path name(s) you will need to enclose all of the appropriate paths with space in quotes. The EXCEPTION to this is the paths in CCVCommand.txt should NOT have quotes around them... AND....the path that points to the CCVCommand.tx file in the BAT file => C:\Convert\CCViewer.exe C:\Convert\CCVCommand.txt should NOT be in quotes.... EVEN if you have spaces in path. ALL other paths...I repeat.. ALL other paths should have quotes if there are spaces in that path. An edited example where I just renamed my above Convert directory to include a space for example is now Convert Profiler. Obviously, you can change this to your actual path names......... Conversion.batCd\ ECHO Converting (Import/Export) DVD Profiler 3.x XML to 2.4 XML "C:\Program Files\DVD Profiler\dvdpro.exe " /CommandFile "C:\ Convert Profiler\ProfilerCommand.txt ""C:\Convert\CCViewer.exe " C:\ Convert Profiler\CCVCommand.txt ECHO Completed pause ProfilerCommand.txtExportXMLAll "C:\ Convert Profiler\collection3.xml "Close CCVCommand.txtOpenDatabase C:\ Convert Profiler\DVDs.mdb ImportProfilerDatabase C:\ Convert Profiler\collection3.xml ExportProfiler2Database C:\ Convert Profiler\collection2.xml Close | | | Last edited: by thekochs |

| Posted: | | | | Ok, trying the scripted method for the first time, but the commandfile doesn't execute in my DVD Profiler. It opens the program but just sits there. I'm using 3.03, Build 1136 |
