Unfortunately, a few posters have used the PMs to continue their personal attacks off the forums. I currently have two members blocked because of their repeated attacks. One of whom I can have a positively pleasant experience with, if we are on the phone together and we can hear each others' voices... the other is simply unpleasant. If Invelos would ban this insult-slinging behavior... a tangible public warning, complete with specific PM warning, followed by limited-time bans, followed by permanent bannation, perhaps the contribution forum would become a place where competing ideas could be discussed and evaluated. | | | If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.

Without any emoticon, this could be your first "bann time out" <gd&r> But I wasn't trying to be funny or sarcastic. This is the worst-behaved forum I frequent. And it's not even the most serious one I am on. In fact, two of the forums I participate in have no backstabbing, bitching, whining, etc. We have friendly jabs, but since we are all on the same page (because everyone on the forum is well-educated in the specific area) we all work towards a common goal. We also have an age requirement. Plus, I didn't direct my comment to anyone in particular. |

Plus, I didn't direct my comment to anyone in particular. Hmm - you should participate with Xing and you will be happy coming back to this forum <sg> But serious, I agree, that it's often not pure fun to read in this forums. I think, that neither IQ Tests nor age restrictions would change anything. It's depending on the inner age... For me it was somewhat clear after reading "It'll take 15 seconds to get by the barrier" - it is not the most important thing to try to understand argues but smash them... I think the only way to raise the niveau is moderation: since rudeness, insulting, disrespect, etc. comes from some single individuals most of the time, they have to be taught how to act and react (I don't have in mind real education, but showing where the borders are - most of the time it is only a different understanding of the borders, which leads to misunderstanding and later on to frustration...). <d> AA | | | Complete list of Common Names • A good point for starting with Headshots (and v11.1) |

Plus, I didn't direct my comment to anyone in particular. You would think that we would have a common goal here also; "a useable DVD database". But as you can see, it does not always seem to be a shared goal. As for your age requirements, would that be a max age? Sandman coming.......gotta go! Hal, I only said 45 because that was Paul's suggestion. I know that in the movie it was 30. But in the original novel... it was 21. |
