And ours says... John Doe as Joe Blow (uncredited) Jim Smith as Joseph (Uncredited) etc. etc. etc...
Is the both safe and can't be removed... or is only Jim Smith as Joseph (Uncredited) need to be kept and John Doe as Joe Blow (uncredited) is the same so can be removed? Why should there be a need to remove anything. What if John Doe is addressed in the movie as "Joe Blow" just because our data may match another DB doesn't mean that is where the data came from. | | | Are you local? | Posted: | | | | I am of course meaning if they are uncredited... and you do not notice either in the movie itself.
I am talking if there is a long list of uncredited.... that you can't verify in the movie... you notice there is several of the long list that is exactly the same as a 3rd Party Database.
do you have to keep the whole list because one or more was changed... or do you look at it as a name by name basis... not a group basis. | | | Pete |

It would be extremely difficult to prove in the first place, but practically impossible to do so on a credit-by credit basis.
My interpretation of Ken's comments has always been that the "carbon copy" is of the entire uncredited cast list, but as I say, that's just my interpretation, which may be tainted by my overall view of this topic. | | | Hal |

OK... so I take it that it is not something that has actually been said one way or the other. I am most curios about it because I want to know how I should vote per Ken's statement if something like this is ever contributed. If there really is no one set way... even though I agree with your statement... I am not sure I can rightfully vote no if it hasn't been said or decided upon one way or another.... so in a case like this I will probably feel I have to vote neutral. | | | Pete |

Individual, line by line, carbon copy would be silly. yes... may be silly... but I wouldn't put it past it actually happening. and as I said... if it is no way confirmed which he meant.. and no agreement of such made.... I don't feel I could vote no to it. (Not that I would vote yes either). | | | Pete |

I don't think it is something that needs to go any further since it was figured out that what I asked was not specified... so either way is within what he said. | | | Pete |

Well, personally, I will vote "no" on any contribution that cherry picks individual uncredited cast and removes them with a reason of "matches IMDb". | | | Hal |

| Posted: | | | | and I wouldn't try to convince you to do any differently. I just mean that in my eyes... it was not clarified against... so I personally would not vote no to it... I would vote neutral on such a contribution... because going by what Ken said to date... the contributor wouldn't exactly be wrong either.
Plus I personally wouldn't do it myself either. | | | Pete |

Plus I personally wouldn't do it myself either. I understand what you are saying, but I agree with Hal on this. The odds are quite good that, if the uncredited actors are correct, they will match a 3rd party site. I could be wrong, but I believe that is why Ken said 'may' instead of 'must'. There is a good chance that the entire cast list could match...that doesn't mean it is a carbon copy.
