Amusing that you suggest that BD will shut down DVD based an Western European numbers. Beta was number one in most of the world as well, andf what happened to it. It died because it could not get enough penetration in the world's largest market at the time.
At this time here are the numbers for the US market SOFTWARE MARKET SHARE - BD VS DVD (6/15/08 - Nielsen/VideoScan): Week End. 6/15 Blu-ray Disc: 7 DVD: 93
BD has a LOOONG way to go yet.

No, some people are just tried of reading and hearing MS/Toshiba "Fan Boys" continue to spue the same incorrect or highly subjective crap. Then, those very same "Fan Boys" try to keep people from finding out that they are the BIGGEST "Fan Boys". | | | To err is human... ----------- 473 Blu-ray Titles | | | Last edited: by Ascended_Saiyan |

It's called having a balanced perspective as nothing is ever perfect. One of my definitions of a fanboy is somebody that refuses to accept the negatives of their chosen product as well. Another one of my defintions for fanboy would also be someone that makes up false negative statements for another product and tries to pass them off as truths. | | | To err is human... ----------- 473 Blu-ray Titles |

I except things that are negative about any products as long as they are not made up or unfairly judged (like comparing the culmanation of 2.5 years of progress against 1.5 years, etc.). What some people need to understand ('cause a lot of people don't) is that to list something negative about something you need to compare it to something else. So, what would I be comparing it to...maybe the X360? What time frame would I be comparing (1st year in?...1st 18 months?)? What? | | | To err is human... ----------- 473 Blu-ray Titles | | | Last edited: by Ascended_Saiyan |

Seeing how you're having so much trouble, I'll start you off:
1. COST |

Seeing how you're having so much trouble, I'll start you off:
1. COST What's negative about $50 more for a MORE COMPLETE product? That would be a negative for the X360. How much do you pay for a 20GB HDD for the X360 (PS3 have 40GB)? About $100? That puts the X360 $50 MORE EXPENSIVE than the PS3. Then, the Wi-Fi for the X360 is more than $50. That puts it $100 more expensive than the PS3. Then, there is Blu-ray. That's at least $200 to get a player. That makes the X360 $300 more expensive than the PS3, IF you could even get it for the X360. Then, there is $50 a year to play online via XBL. That makes it $350 more expensive than the PS3. Even if you took the $200 off for the Blu-ray player, the X360 is still $150 more expensive for similiar functionality. That's not even taking into account lossless audio, print server abilities, web surfing, Linux capabilities, etc. Do you understand now? | | | To err is human... ----------- 473 Blu-ray Titles |
