Anyone up to answer # 2? | | | Lutz |

| Posted: | | | | Just in case this is not clear to people experimenting with my fix: it is not enough to modify the script, one also has to download autoit and either erecompile the script to replace the original executable, or to run it from the interpreter. Otherwise, it will always execute the original script!

| Posted: | | | | I'm not into programming either. I just inserted the section you wrote into the original script. No recompile. Don't know how to do that! Don't want to learn, necessarily.
Any way that you could post your version with the 100ms delay or send it to me in e-mail.
I have over 2300 profiles and all 9000 images from Doug's site. There's no way that I'm gonna do this manually!
Thanks. | | | Hal | | | Last edited: by hal9g |

-Stephane thanks for this - I was imagining the script was being executed and couldn't work out why I couldn't make changes etc. | | | Paul |

| Posted: | | | | I have it running right now on another computer, and it seems to be chugging happily away---took about 90 miinutes to get up to last names starting with B. It choked on Sophie De La Rue for some reason, but that's the only error I've received so far.
I was working on some of the silent movies in my collection last night manually and getting headshots for those; I think I will assemble a Headshots of the Silent Era supplement for Doug, since the ones in his database are almost all current people (most of whom I've never heard of---I'll take Minta Durfee and Leatrice Joy, thank you). There are some truly beautiful photos of forgotten actors and actresses in this bunch. | | | "This movie has warped my fragile little mind." |

I've got it working now with a delay of 200 (but have also created one with a delay of 100 and try that to see if it also works). Do you want me to send these to you? | | | Paul |

| Posted: | | | | Thanks for the offer Paul.
I got adventurous and downloaded AutoIt and edited the script to 100 ms and started it.
It's been running for about an hour now (about 55 minutes longer than it had run previously) and appears to be picking up most of the images that it should.
I know it is missing some, because I had manually entered some myself. When I started the script, I told it to overwrite existing images, and on several occassions, I have noticed that it did not overwrtie. On others it did.
At any rate, I'm going to let it run all the way through and then evaluate how thorough it was. I think it is getting the majority of them, and that will make me happy. The rest can always be added manually.
Thanks to everyone for their offers of assistance and for the program! | | | Hal | | | Last edited: by hal9g |

| Posted: | | | | First, thank you for the tool. I'd like to share my experience here because it took me a while to make it work. When DVD Profiler is setup with the administrator privilege ( See bug with profileOld.xml), it is not possible for me to drag and drop the headshots. So the tool will not work. To make it work, the program has to be run without the administrator privilege and once the tool is completed, just kill the DVD Profiler task, the headshots are saved automatically. I also had to add the delay of 20 msec (thanks Stephane). |

| Posted: | | | | I've uploaded a new version (see also first post) with a configurable global "slow down" value added. Just type in the desired delay (default is 50ms) and all critical operations that copy/paste from/to profiler will be delayed accordingly. Thanks to Stephane for the hint. Mastersyl, are you really sure that the script works only without administrative privileges? I think it's the other way around. I'm running in admin mode on XP SP2 and have no problems at all. | | | Last edited: by Caranthir |

I think you have to run both DVD Profiler and your tool the same way - both as admins, or neither as admin. Vista does not like it too much when admin and non-admin processes tries to share data. If you run it without being an admin, you could not close the profile editing dialog, hence the need to kill the process. If you run both as admin, you can close both as expected. With 3.0.1 I guess the problem is irrelevant anyway... that is, if the tool works with 3.0.1. | | | Regards Lars |

| Posted: | | | | Finished last night. Did it in several stages and sometimes the script just stopped but no worries. All done now.
Stupid question maybe but does everyone have the same actor database or are these just actors that are in your movies?
In the first case I am willing to share my actordatabase with headshots for people that rather not do the whole import thing. Just mail me and I'll send it to you. | | | Greetz, Marc Castermans

| Posted: | | | | Shouldn't be much longer for me... last night I got as far as Christina Vidal. I mean after all... how many could there really be between X,Y and Z? So I will probably just finish up with the version I got since I am not having any problems. | | | Pete |

I also noticed that the "Update Tables from IVS" menu item is gone from the Online menu, so I don't think there is a way to download the full cast/crew database from Invelos. |

| Posted: | | | | So I can safely delete all actors that aren't in any of my movies?
Can someone confirm this? | | | Greetz, Marc Castermans
