We've done it many times, James, many times. And if everybody operates from their own page, that is anarchy by the very definition of it. Like I said all i want to see is ONE page not everybody doing their own thing, i remember what that was like and so do you, and the Online back then had very little value to anyone.

I don't see why we don't treat this like Digital Copy was.

Add it to the Text base of the features, until a program modification comes to clarify it.

On the other hand, I can see it as an edition, based upon what other editions we have.  (Fullscreen, Widescreen) come to mind.

But I would prefer it as a feature

I disagree that it's anarchy because we still operate under the rules. Your plan might be better but we have no authority to "enforce" it with votes. It's not an attack on you to refute your claim that we can enforce something that's unenforceable.

Indeed.  We, in the forums, are a very small minority of Profiler users.  While Ken does ask us for opinions, we don't have the right to impose our will on the rest of the community.  Yes, we have attempted it in the past.  Yes, it seemed like we were all on the same page, but it was an illusion and only lasted until someone decided they didn't want to adhere to our non-rules.

This isn't an attack, just a reality check.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

Ihave not taken anything you or James have said as an attack, Martian. But I repeat ONE page, not anything goes, been there, done that, don't want to do it again under any circumstances. And we HAVE utilized conventions in the past, so while I understand what you are saying, I simply disagree with it. I don't believe if we all work together that daddy has to come change our diapers for us, we can work together to establish a an interim solution leaving ken free to develop a permanent solution in his time.

BTW, Martian, I will wager that Rick hasn't even got an idea what was offensive, but he WAS, as is his way.

Thank you everyone for your input. After reading all the remarks, I also think that the best option for the time being would be to add 3D as a feature, until more 3D releases are out and if/when Invelos makes a change about this to the rules and/or the program. Personally, I think a feature icon for 3D would be a nice way to handle it but we'll have to wait and see.

For the time being, I just added in the Other Features: "3D version of the movie" for Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs.

Wouldn't the 3D release be a 'special version' of the film? Isn't there also a non 3D release? It's already been said that the media type is still blu-ray and that the 3D is just another encode on that media. So going by what the rules say about edition I see no reason why 3D is not a valid edition (again per Invelos' current rules).

That said I would also agree that it is a feature just like PIP would be.

Quote:
Edition
The Edition field is for distinguishing between DVDs, and for indicating special versions and collections (for example The Criterion Collection, Widescreen, Full-Screen Edition, Director's Cut). It's usually safe to use one of the built-in selections if appropriate. If you are using a non-standard description, take it from the DVD box, and ensure it will help distinguish between different releases of the same title.

Do not enter media types (such as "Blu-Ray + DVD + Digital Copy") into the edition or title field.
