This month maybe? This year maybe? It should be ready for trials by September (or July)?
Just a teaser to keep us informed, please.

I seem to remember reading that a looonnng time ago but forgot myself in all the Apple Furor. It would be nice though. But I'd rather see the i-Phone/Pad/Pod Touch version(s) hit first anyway. Just a teaser to keep us informed, please. C'mon guys, HutcHJC asked a reasonable question and a timetable to release wouldn't hurt you. Are we likely to see anything in iTunes by Christmas this year? | | | At My Age, sex is like playing pool with a piece of rope. |

| Posted: | | | | If Ken has a view on the development time required and a timetable, then it would be very helpful for a lot of people to get an approximate idea of that:
Some people, like me, need to buy a new cellphone in the upcoming months. Knowing whether this app will be available relatively soon or will take at least 3 years might tip the scale towards or away an iPhone or different smart phone, especially since I already have a license for DVDP Mobile
For those that already have an iPhone, knowing whether or not the app will be here in the near or very distant future could also help them decide whether or not it's worth to invest in temporary iPhone solutions (e.g. Movie Collector + their iPhone app) or not
So unlike DVDP, having a relative view on the remaining dev time would help people decide (in the lines of: still this year, somewhere next year, not in the first two years, etc) | | | Blu-ray collection DVD collection My Games My Trophies |

| Posted: | | | | While I can appreciate people wanting to know when it's coming, I can also understand Ken not having posted anything about it. On plenty of other sites I've seen the developers post dates & when they can't release on that date they then get people moaning "Oh but you said....", "Why can't you keep your word...", etc... They're in a no win situation, however I think having no date is better than giving an approximate one. |

However, I have to say that to let the world know that there's to be an iPhone version was a huge mistake because now the world is getting impatient; would have been far wiser to have said nothing and get the job done. I note that a lot of posts are from people who 'can't wait', whilst I for one can wait and will wait for as long as it takes, I too am curious about a timetable. If Profiler was a crap program then no one would give a fat rat's clacker if it was ported to the iPhone or not. But it isn't, its a premier program and that is what is causing all the impatience. So getting back to HutcHJC's original question, now that the world has been told, a timetable to release is, I think, warranted, even if just to quell the speculation. | Posted: | | | | I understand your reasons Wally but think that announcing that an iPhone app was being worked on was correct. If nothing had been announced then people would eventually start looking at alternative programs*. By simply stating that there is one coming will stop some from doing that. Although some may have since gone on to do that, I believe the percentage will be far smaller than if no plans had been announced.
*I'm not referring to $1.99 apps that read Profiler exports but other full cataloguing software. |
