Quote: I'll save you the trouble: get an iPhone, but wait until after June 8. Any particular reason why? Is a new iPhone version due out by that date? As previously mentioned, June 8 is the event that would likely announce new iPhones. I would wait until at least that date to see what's coming. As for what's rummored: faster processor, more ram, better camera, more storage space, digital compass. That's basically it so far though. ------------------------- As for wanting to know when the iPhone app is coming, I don't want a release date because I understand the idea of giving a release date and then you have to rush to get it out on time and things don't work so well, or when you miss the day, people get upset. What I want is a "ballpark figure" of when we can see it. Is it weeks away? A few months away? A year or more away? Give us a nice general range you feel comfortable with. Or how about a percentage done? Have you started it? Are you pretty far along? Is it completed and being fine tuned? | | | Last edited: by michaelzrork |

| Posted: | | | | Well - I'll just sit tight and wait to see what Ken cooks up... We've never been disappointed previously and I suspect we won't be this time around also... As for the competition, I don't believe that an add-on for an external device will make or break the business! That being said - I naturally look forward to all the new stuff. |

| Posted: | | | | With all the interest generated by the iphone app in this thread I'd like to remind Ken that there are people (like myself) patiently waiting for the new mobile version.
I don't want a release date for the reasons other people have posted but I'd love to know what new features are being implemented. I'm doing a rearrangment of my db at the moment and it would be handy to know so I can take advantage of the new features or carry on making workarounds for any small limitations. For example, I've been thinking of creating episode level child profiles so I can review and set watched events for individual episodes but without better filtering options on the mobile version this could become quite cumbersome. |

| Posted: | | | | Ken said something about the iPhone-software: Quoting Ken Cole: Quote: At present, my time (outside of support tickets, customer service handling, contribution processing, DB administration, accounting, forum moderation, etc.) is 100% focused on the iPhone version. As such, for better or for worse, some of the unsettled contribution concerns have taken a temporary back seat. [...] As to the status of the iPhone version, I won't be giving a time estimate, nor will I be announcing features ahead of release. We want to make sure we catch our competion off guard. I'll say one thing though - although there are iPhone apps for DVD collections available now, there are none like this one. No, this will be available through the App store. Offline access will be available but for now will be read-only. Awesome, as a dvd profiler and dvd profiler mobile owner who not long ago purchased an Ipod Touch 2nd Gen you've made a sale mike |
