The irony of all this is Skip's reasoning for voting no. The idea that this will somehow cause him more work in some far flung future is laughable at best. This profile has been blank since it was first entered in Profiler back in 2004. At least after I'm done there will be something to correct. Frankly, I thought this was the silliest thing I had ever seen regarding this program....then I saw the "My Fair Lady" thread. |

Even more films will be lost to this program. well, without a Rule change, I say: Don't worry. Currently there is a difference in the [Movie} Box Set rules saying "Sets containing 2 films, one on each side of Dual-Sided DVD." whie the TV Series Rules "Individual profiles for each disc may be submitted if desired". that is what this discussion is based on. (Personally, I would say side-profiling is the way to go for TV Series as well...) | | | Achim [諾亞信; Ya-Shin//Nuo], a German in Taiwan. Registered: May 29, 2000 (at InterVocative) |

(Personally, I would say side-profiling is the way to go for TV Series as well...) Well, we can always take a vote and see how many people feel the same way. The program allows it so I don't see any real reason not to do it that way but, I am just one person. A concensus, that we can pass on to Ken, might be all that is needed here. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | The Rules already say to create separate profiles when you have two different movies on opposite sides of a dual-sided disc.
So somehow that means if there are two movies each on opposite sides of a dual-sided disc, they should all be in one profile?
Sorry, but that doesn't make sense to me.
This notion that "Disc IDs" should be equal to "number of discs" is also non-sensical. The program has never equated these two, and unless Ken changes the program, it never will. Since we don't profile bonus discs for most DVDs, there will never be a way to get an accurate disc count unless Ken adds a field specifically for that purpose. Not that I think it serves much of a purpose. | | | Hal |

| Posted: | | | | I just want to make sure I was clear here. I was talking about taking a poll about profiling both sides for TV sets since, as ya_shin pointed out, it isn't covered in the TV set rules.
There should be no doubt about Movie box sets as that is already covered in the rules. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. If this profile is forced to stay the way it is, I don't think anything will go away. It will just mean the alignment of the database will go on in the disorganized, checkerboard way it is going now. I can see now the submission/voting system is fine for individual profiles, but as for lining up data between related titles it is not working out very well. |
