I feel that I am very very close to make it work!! No, you are absolutely all good. The first post just asks not to quote it - so as not to change the contents, only to have obsolete info still lingering in quotes. More good news. I also just got a new QL-570. I am in the midst of upgrading the plugin to take advantage of the latest Editor 5.0 and Brother SDK, which can process labels in XML format as well as the old style. So if you can hang tight for a couple of days ... save yourself some grief. Meanwhile waiting, you might try using the QL-570 with the Reports tool, by manipulating the page sizes, margins, etc. Your experience could help us all. I read recently where somebody did that with the Dymo printer with excellent results. I'm glad to have additional motivation to get the upgrade finished. (I see Rob has posted some good info. Thanks.) | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! BDPFrog. | | | Last edited: by mediadogg |

| Posted: | | | | *Bowing down* Before posting this question I have tried playing with the setup with the result I was getting the "[...] thew an exception". There was also another post where screen shot displayed how another user was configuring his label printer (failed with me)... Should I figure out a way, rest assure that I will post it . Though you have all the stars.. here's another good vote haha E | | | E |

| Posted: | | | | The client SDK and print driver have to be compatible. I can't go much further because I never owned a label printer before. Other users are having troubles since the new SDK and Editor 5. So, I decided to get my own printer and try to get everything going again. I funded the printer from my donations fund, so I feel that the expense is justified even though I don't plan to use the printer very much myself. | | | Thanks for your support. | Posted: | | | | Version 2.0 Available
- Compatible with latest Brother SDK and Label Editor 5.0 (except no support for XML labels) - New feaure, continuous mode, will print labels in a batch with only one cut at the end - New fields supported:
Support for Reviews (stars printout – no ½ stars yet) The field NAME (not the text) must be: “!FilmReview”, “!VideoReview", "!AudioReview", or "!ExtrasReview".
Support for front / back cover – add an image (NOT clipart) with NAME: “!FrontCover", or "!BackCover".
Labels are printed at 600dpi for better quality bar codes
Preview window can now be sized and adjusted to accomodate bigger labels
Keep in mind that the text in the review fields are just for sizing purposes. The text will be overwritten with stars. You have to edit the properties of the text fields and set the NAME appropriately for this to work. The front and back covers will not print with a clipart object.
The prior version of this plugin will still be supported until the new version proves worthy. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! BDPFrog. | | | Last edited: by mediadogg |

| Posted: | | | | got a new QL-700 brother printer, looking forward to using the plugin for label printing. Setup a templete using the field names as per the instructions. All I get is an exception error with the P-touch plugin.
"The type initializer for 'PTouchLabel.PTouch' threw an exception".

Using win7 64-bit P-Editor 5.1 At what point in the process do you get the exception? Fair warning: I hardly ever use my Ptouch printer (can't even find the power cord) and have forgotten a whole bunch about the plugin code. So please be patient with my debugging. I have the QL-570 and that is all I have tested on. Most prior problems with the plugin have been due to driver (in)compatibility issues. If you installed a 64 bit driver, maybe try the 32 bit version. I believe that mine used to run from Win 7 64-bit (that was my HTPC that I don't use very much any more.) Also, please report on: - whether you are able to print the template directly from the editor (outside of DVDP, not using the plugin). - whether you can print one of the included sample templates using the plugin | | | Thanks for your support. | Posted: | | | | I can print the templete on the 5.1 ptouch software. I can NOT print a templete via DVDP. I get the error after I select the templete.
I tried to load the 32 bit driver but my system would not allow it due to it being a 64 bit OS. | | | Last edited: by leo1963 |

| Posted: | | | | Thanks for those tests. Ok, go ahead and send me the template to the same email you used before. It will be a few days - I have some family business to attend to, and then I have to resurrect my printer and understanding of my own plugin code! Thanks in advance for your patience. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! BDPFrog. | | | Last edited: by mediadogg |
