I'm not sure I understand this. By "sorted" do you mean simply finding out this stat? Because you I'm not sure how you'd sort after how many movies an actor's been in. I guess if Bruce Willis is your most common actor, all his movies would come first, and then the second most common actor's movies, etc? If you mean finding out the stat , you can do this using the Database Query plugin. Quoting Zedja: Quote: And I'd also like if TV-series would only be counted once. You can do this using the Personal Information window. I think that's what it's called, I don't have DVD Profiler to check. At any rate, it's the window where you set price paid and purchase place, and there's a "Count As" entry box, where you can set subsequent discs in a TV series to count as zero. | | | Tags, tags, bo bags, banana fana fo fags, mi my mo mags, TAGS! | Posted: | | | | I think Zedja wants to sort the actor list, not the DVDs. |

Also a way to separate guest appearances from being a cast member. You can also use simple statistic plugin. It works also for directors and composers. Note that you can copy all the results to Excel (CTRL A+ CTRL C to clipboard, then CRTL V to Excel), and get in Excel the complete list of your actors that you can sort by family name, so that you can work on it as you want. Just the operation is awfully long when copying to clipboard (several minutes even with a powerful computer, so be patient, it works...) | | | Images from movies | | | Last edited: by surfeur51 |

If you mean finding out the stat , you can do this using the Database Query plugin. I was thinking of the list of actors in the Filter Section. Quoting Astrakan: Quote: Quoting Zedja:

I was thinking about the list of actors and the count there. I don't know if the Count As affects that list yet since I haven't started to add my TV-series yet. |

| Posted: | | | | Sorry about the double post, but I would also like to see the image icon in the filter for cast/crew to show who has gotten an image or not. Sortable if possible of course. |

| Posted: | | | | Another reason why I would like to see another linking system: Quoting marcelb7: Quote: Thanks for your comment, but do we really need to put in a birth year for 1500 Mel Gibson profiles, to distinguish 3(...) 'other' Mel Gibson profiles (Heartlands)? It seems so... illogical. Never mind how many users might have titles from both actors (not many, I suppose), or even care to distinguish them (even less than 'not many').
That's not to say you aren't right, but I think the whole birth year thing is getting out of hand. There's always somebody who finds 1 profile (out of the nearly 500,000 in the database) that has a different <insert well-known Hollywood name>. And then we have to change 99.99999% of the entries for that name, instead of finding a solution to distinguish the other 0.00001%...
All the best, Marcel
PS: I did some research. At the moment there are only 2 (!) profiles that have a birth year for Mel Gibson. Pocahontas (8-717418-195533) and a Mad Max boxset (3-322069-947582). The latter is incorrect anyway, because the cast and crew should be entered on the child profiles. With a different linking system we would have only to change 3 profiles and not 1500. So please Ken, find a better way than we have now and add it. Btw, it would be great if the linking would also work between crew and cast. |
