| Posted: | | | | I'm looking at four DVDs in my collection (recent purchases from Dollar Tree) with the same UPC: 828706545201
The Griddle House The Magic Kids Monkey King: Hero Is Back Pagan Warrior
The database has this as A.M.I. (Artifical Machine Intelligence)
Another UPC that is common among these Dollar Tree DVDs is 828706545188.
These are not sticker UPCs. I've been peeling those or opening them if I haven't opened them yet to watch. Several more DVDs I bought from Dollar Tree have this same UPC number on a sticker. I'm not talking about sticker UPCs here. I'm taking about the actual UPC printed on the cover. It's possible that the UPCs were changed for marketing through Dollar Tree as so far I've found Monkey King and The Griddle House in the database with different UPCs.
How do we deal with these when the UPC number is for a different title than what we have? The software seems to make the assumption that the UPC is unique when it clearly is not in this case. |

| Posted: | | | | 828706545188 is currently associated with two titles: Antboy 3: The Final Chapter and The Christmas Switch. I saw both of these at Dollar Tree and didn't buy them. I have at least two other DVDs with this UPC: The Perfect Trap and Windstorm. Both are German films dubbed in english. |

| Posted: | | | | Sometimes the same UPC gets used. Also it is possible these are pirate discs even if you buy them in a shop. I have some like that in Australia.
Cheers. |

The Dollar Tree titles are legit. You can create duplicates, based on UPC 828706545201, but only in the desktop program.First, add 828706545201 to your collectionSelect the title, and go to menu DVD --> Change UPC/Locality.Click on the blue arrow icon on the right. "Select/Create Alternate Version"Select 'Create New Alternate Version'Click on OK.Edit the profile for 'The Griddle House' and enter as much data as possible. Please add scans of the cover images.Contribute and wait until it's released into the database. For the next title, you can clone it: After "Select 'Create New Alternate Version', check the box 'Retain existing entry and create a clone'. That way you retain your profile of 'The Griddle House', and you can use the 'clone' for 'The Magic Kids'. Repeat until you have 4 clones. | | | Last edited: by marcelb7 |

| Posted: | | | | I just added Harryhausen Shorts volume 1 843156050013 by this method. I can't get rid of the old picture.
The ones I added before I added by title. Do I need to resubmit them? |

| Posted: | | | | Ive bought several Dollar Tree Blue-Ray movies and I've had a few problems with the UPC codes registering. I notice when I take the sleeve out and scan the UPC barcode it some times work. I think Dollar Tree uses a general barcode for when people check out with there movies. To me the price is great with some inconvenience. |
