Delta Airlines has a comprehensive infant policy designed to accommodate families traveling with young children. According to Delta Airlines infant policy, infants under the age of 2 years may travel for free within the United States if seated on an adult's lap. For international travel, a lap infant fare, typically a percentage of the adult ticket price, may apply along with applicable taxes and fees. Parents or guardians also have the option to purchase a separate seat for their infant, provided that an FAA-approved child safety seat is used during the flight. Delta allows one diaper bag and additional infant-specific items, such as a stroller or car seat, to be checked or gate-checked at no extra cost. Additionally, bassinets, known as SkyCots, are available on select international flights and can be requested in advance, subject to availability.
