I use DVD Profiler in my HTPC, where the database sits in a shared folder, and I also run it in my office, where my printers are, using the database from the HTPC's shared drive. The problem is that when I try to run DVD Profiler on one machine when I left it running on the other one it gives a database access error with options like "Repair", "Retry" etc. If I choose "Exit", the program gets caught in an endless loop of "Memory violation" pop-ups. The only way out is to end the DVDPRO.EXE process in task manager. I think it would benefit many users who have more than 1 PC if the program could detect that the database is being used already and terminate gracefully. It would be even better if it allowed concurrent access but I know I would be pushing my luck if I requested that |
