From the Tools menu, you can edit Retailers, Users, Tags, or Studios but you can't edit Actors. You have to edit a DVD (any DVD), then select Cast, then find the actor you want to edit (whether they're in the DVD that you selected or not) and select Edit Cast Member.

It would be a whole lot more convenient if you could add an Edit Actors... item to the Tools menu.
