| Posted: | | | | There are a lot of Older dvd's that have a built in dvd software player included on their discs. ( Die Hard / LOTR / Lost in Space etc..) These discs must be included for others who do not USE Tags .
Those who lost the ability for the windows based PC's to play back DVD will just resort to their table top players. There should be a tick box included under Discs for the this type of software to be ticked or drop down box for them to find quickly in their library .
Must have !! | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.

| Posted: | | | | Why, terry. I have absolutely NO PROBLEM playing ANY of my titles, even old InterActuals through PowerDVD. Granted some of the fuctionality is lost due to old software which is no longer supported, and having a tick box will tell you what exactly. It will play in PowerDVD and the Disc ID will captured by Profiler, what else is needed.

| Posted: | | | | But Interactual Player, unless things have changed, is NOT a windows based player, it still relies on a DVD player being installed on the PC, such as PowerDVD or WinDVD. Interactual is just a front-end with access to certain "enhanced" interactivity features. |

| Posted: | | | | If I'm not mistaken, this is already handled by the tick box "DVD-ROM Content". | | | Are you local? This is a local shop the strangers you would bring would not understand us, our customs, our local ways. |

| Posted: | | | | All I know is i nthe old days 1997 I had an inexpensive DVD player installed in my home built PC II ., The toshiba M35 player did not come with any software, and sure enough within a few weeks it stopped responding. The only way it ever worked was with supplied interactive 2.0 software installed from the discs that had the emplem PC in blackbox at the bottom of the rear jacket . The disc when injected autostarted the player and ask if we wanted installation or cancel . When my disc of Powerdvd was introduced to me a couple years later it was version 2.5 ,and it worked fine until I formatted/ renewed/ replaced the PC and I was back to square one no program no can play DVD;s on PC . Interactive was okay but overall I liked Power DVD better so I bought the program version 6 and have always used that. Occasionally when I am running thru my library with various discs being inserted, ( in the PC) I occasionally run up against Interactive 2.0 that overrides my PowerDVD6 default and wants to install its own software for default. | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. | Posted: | | | | We would have to include PCFriendly and any other such DVD based software, frankly I don't see the importance.

| Posted: | | | | if you need software in a jiffy,, the Invelos program could provide some help to others, not as fortunate as you and I ... , in getting a quick and dirty player installed with just their own DVD discs in pile on the floor., Like you wouldn't have to read all the rear jackets to find that emblem 'PC Friendly ' | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. | Posted: | | | | Have to agree, it's useless information. I hate that that program wants me to instal it. Back in the day, it would always crash my PC when I went to run it. That garbage should not be included on the DVD itself. | | | Signature banned: Reason out of date... |

If you cannot find a free / time limited / feature limited version of Power DVD or Win DVD in less than 30 seconds of launching the browser of your choice, you should not be inserting DVD's into your DVD drive. Be serious here. | | | Signature banned: Reason out of date... |

Be serious here. If the PC is not 'on line' how can it find free software on the net?? I am being serious and unfortunately none of the rest of you are. | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.

| Posted: | | | | I think we all understand what you mean, but like Tracer said, there is a spot for dvd-rom content, that kind of falls into that category | | | _________________________________________________________________________ "Crush your enemies, see them driven before you and hear the lamentation of the women!" |

I have never once ever tried to use dvd software on the dvd itself.. If your dvd player player was being used or was out of commission and you had a dvd rom player in your PC., BUT your PC was recently formatted, Plus you are not on the Internet, and therefore can't log in and download any of the free software available including Windows media player 9 thru 11., and you can't find that DVD disc of PowerDVD or any other software for your DVD, and you put the DVD into your PC , you would more than likely get a error message stating that your DVD will not play because it is missing some sort of file. NOW with all that said and done.., I'll will again try to reason with any of you on why I think my request is a valid one. Knowing that on some of your DVDs sitting on your shelf that some and most of the earlier disc were encoded with PC Friendly., The little black emblem on the rear of the DVD jacket near the bottom that states that the disc itself contains a program that could install itself itself on a PC ( NOT a MAC).., and that program is called Interactual Player version xx .. BY clicking yes it would then install itself and playback the disc to your satisfaction. NOW knowing all this and putting your self into this scenario, wouldn't it be nice to know that contributed titles that had that option was ticked to let you know at a glance of your monitor and the Invelos Software that you have that software at your fingertips.. That is what I was trying to get across.. It's like you were all saying if your disc is encoded with CC, why mention it anywhere? if it is there you'll find it if you look hard enough .. | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird.
